- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,052 reviewsIf you want to get away close to nature then this is a good spot. It has a Hunting lodge style with a good restaurant and bar beside a large veranda where you can watch the scenery, have a glass of wine and listen to nature. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. We had a small balcony to let us sit and watch over the valley. Staff are all very nice and cheerful. We had a half board package at a very reasonable price. The menu selection was good as was the food. Portions were very generous. There's a pack of tame geese to provide some entertainment and amusement when they go on parade around the artificial lake. You can travel to local nature spots but we just went on the local walk along the bank of the Guadalquivir. We saw some deer, jays, nutthatch, crossbills and terrapins. We could hear green woodpeckers calling but didn't get a glimpse. We only stayed two nights but there seems to be plenty to see for a longer trip. The views on the drive from Cordoba were pretty spectacular. It's a typical mountain drive with a good surface but a winding road with a long climb. The parking there is fine. We didn't use the pool but it looked good. The drive North along the river towards Murcia is pleasant also. So a very enjoyable stopover.Guest review byDavidIreland
- From US$102.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 332 reviewsFabulous location, and characterful building, which hasn't lost its charm when it has incorporated modern facilities. It requires a long drive to reach by car, but we had included it in a bike tour as the finale of our route, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good quality, and the half board package was really good value. Beautiful mountain and forest surroundings, and if you wanted to take advantage of the walking, each room was provided with traditional walking sticks to use.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom

The streets in the town centre are very narrow which are shared by pedestrians and cars and at times come too close for comfort. A number of the bars and restaurants are closed for a number of days during the week or some permanently due to lack of staff!! The food served in most places was Tapas, Raciones which were mainly very good if not too different from one bar to another. If you are sightseeing by car be prepared for challenging mountain roads and local rally drivers. The town has a lot of charm but as a natural reserve better not to be visited in the hot summer months.Guest review byJohnIreland - 10.0

Ubeda is such a beautiful town, and if you are there with friends and have some time you can really experience all it has to offer, mostly food, drinks and architecture. We didn't have the time to visit the olive farms, and see how olive oil is produced, definetly on the list if we ever return! Would highly recommend it if you are in the area!Guest review byJamesHong Kong - 8.0
Currently the town centre is undergoing major refurbishment...
Currently the town centre is undergoing major refurbishment work, making the lovely central square a building site. But the town has many excellent restaurants, and the local people are very friendly and welcoming. There is little else to do or see in the surrounding area, as this is the centre of the olive oil production, with millions of trees as far as the eye can see in every direction. The nearest other town is Ubeda but in our opinion, Baeza is more pedestrian friendly and is more historically interesting. The tourist train is a very pleasant way to see the town.Guest review byAnne MargaretSpain - 8.0
Linares is a typical Spanish town.
Linares is a typical Spanish town. There is not a lot to do here, but has an old lead mining history and just outside there is a very good Roman archaelogical site with mosaics etc at Castulo which was an unplanned and amazing find.Guest review byAngelaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I came with my sun to twitch the Iberian Lynx, we succeeded and saw 5 lynx, including a female with two cups. In the evening we spend some time in the city, we found some nice restaurants, the food is excellent and very cheap in relation with prices we pay in Holland.Guest review by54johanNetherlands - 10.0
The hosts Bev & John were wonderful.
The hosts Bev & John were wonderful. Their house is attached to the holiday accommodation but they never invade your privacy. If you do need them they are always available. Perfect. The accommodation is furnished well with all the equipment you will need. We were provided with a well stocked arrival pack. The terrace, gardens and pool are perfectly kept. The views are wonderful and as there is very little light pollution the night sky is outstanding. We loved it so much we’ve booked to go back next year. Thank you Bev and John for a great time.Guest review byJohnSpain - 10.0
