- From US$280.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 22 reviewsWhere do I start! The house and its grounds are just beautiful and every inch has been thoughtfully decorated with the addition of carefully curated artwork, ornaments and lighting. Arrival was very smooth and we were shown around the villa and then to our room. We stayed in Le Vue which is right at the top of the house and so benefits from having 4 walls of magnificent windows. The room was light and airy and from the bed you could look out on to the bay and see the ebb and flow of the tide (I highly recommend spend the night with all the blinds up and the doors open to witness the sunrise and to listen to the waves and the hypnotising frog chorus) The hotel has an amazingly well equip kitchen that guests are welcome to use to cook their own food (or a chef can be provided on request) There is also an honesty policy so you can help your self to drinks and just tally what you have had. There is a comfy lounge area and my favourite a dark and cosy library with laddered shelf’s. The garden has a natural pool, sauna and sunbathing areas and a sweet little gate leads straight out on to the beach. I highly recommend heading to the beach and walking left to the old port where you will happen across the cutest fishing shack style restaurant which serves up amazing food. The lads there were super friendly and spoke great English. Nothing is too much trouble for Karin and her team and they really do encourage you to treat villa Tosca as a home from home. We will definitely be heading back.Guest review bySharonUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 785 reviewsI booked this hotel for a rest with my daughter during the holidays. It is a beautiful hotel with a long history. It was founded in 1909 and has retained its identity, imbued with the entire history of France, from royalty to the present day. The room is typically French small, but has all the facilities for a stay including a very comfortable bed. We ordered breakfast in the room and they brought us very fresh and delicious pastries, starting with fresh baguettes in various types, croissants, and other famous French buns. Even if we had no desire to eat, it was impossible not to be tempted. :)) We had dinner at the restaurant and also celebrated my birthday. The cuisine exceeded my expectations, with very refined and beautifully presented dishes. And most importantly - it was delicious! Thank you very much to the chef! Used the sauna as well, it was mostly very quiet and we were able to relax. In front of the hotel is Grand beach, a lovely bay, and a shore for swimming and relaxing.Guest review bySevdaAzerbaijan

The city is extremely diverse.
The city is extremely diverse. The sentence that came to me to describe it is it's a chill French ghetto resting on timeless history - and I mean this in THE best way possible. People are SO diverse, it's like everyone's free to be whoever they wish to be and noone getting into anyone's business about it. At first it seems a bit chaotic but after about half anhour it becomes just lovely really. Historical building are cool, as they are anywhere. My two personal favourites were the Darwin ecosystem and Passage Galerie Bordelaise - spent my last morning at the first and last lunch at the latter. One of the most peaceful, speacial days in when sightseeing.Guest review byDoraHungary - 8.0

A lovely town with views, history, a charming historic center and a newer, lively area that also includes a university. Lots of places to eat, stroll and take in the scenery. Popular with the French, Pau is recommended especially for those looking for a destination that's just a bit off the beaten tourist path.Guest review byKevinUnited States - 10.0

We enjoyed walking on the beach, strolling round the interesting streets in town, eating at the restaurants and taking the boat across to Cap du Ferrett. It is a clean, well looked after town with a buzz to it. The gardens are well worth a stroll with a climb up the Belvedere tower for a view. At the Cap du Ferrett we walked along the beach to the oyster shacks and had a delicious feast of oysters and prawns. I look forward to going back for what could be an annual short stay.Guest review bySusanFrance - 10.0

Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city. The city is divided by a straight road with many shops. It is good to explore both sides. One has all the main buildings the other side has a maze of charming streets. at night the town is gaslit - very atmospheric! The market is exceptional.Guest review byclareUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a very pleasant little town on the South-west coast of France. Its beach is nicely sheltered from the wild Bay of Biscay, making it safe and attractive. We stayed in a central hotel with easy access to some lovely bars and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. It's an easy drive into the countryside; we climbed a mountain called Larrun, part of the Pyrenees, then easily back to St Jean de Luz for a swim and out for dinner! Also some good local shops.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0
