Epernay is all about the champagne.
Epernay is all about the champagne. Our visit included Sunday and Monday evenings and as a result we found it very difficult to book a decent restaurant due to many closing on those days. We would visit again but maybe towards the end of the week.Guest review byRichard - 8.0

Lovely walled town.
Lovely walled town. There are plenty of little shops, bakeries, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. It’s great to walk around the ramparts which enclose the city. Everyone was very friendly. After a long drive from Calais, I was looking forward to...
After a long drive from Calais, I was looking forward to having a good rest and a pleasant stay. I found the hotel quite easily – it’s quite close to the main routes on the outskirts of Sedan. The rooms (for my small group) had been allocated, which helped. Unfortunately, all the rooms were a bit on the small side. The twin bedded room I was in had little room to move around and contained a table that sat in the gap between the beds so I could not get through. Moving it to the foot of the bed meant there was no room to move around anywhere. As I was sharing with my Son, it was clear it wasn’t going to work, so I asked to move rooms and did get moved to a triple room which gave us a bit more space, but not much. The beds are quite small too and my tall Son spent two uncomfortable nights. Additionally, the tiny shower room (no room to turn around in the shower and a toilet with no elbow room) had a problem with the drains...it smelled quite unpleasant. It’s a low-budget hotel that needs to spruce itself up. We went for a walk to see a bit of Sedan – the centre is about 20-30 minutes walk and ok for a night out. There is a Chinese restaurant and a bar about 5-8 minutes walk from the hotel, so it wasn’t too far out.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Chaumont is charming.
Chaumont is charming. About 25 minutes drive to visit the Charles De Gaulle Memorial in Colombey Les Deux Eglise. I highly recommend a trip to the village to enjoy the memorial and local champagne house. Chaumont has friendly locals and delicious food.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
