Ticehurst
This is a unique location, on the edge of a 46-acre patch of ancient woodland. When we stayed the bluebells were out and it was beautiful. To be clear, though, the site that the lodges look out onto isn't the woodland but a giant carpark. The nearby restaurant, the Birchwood, is a lovely location for breakfast (if a little pricey). The lodges are also near to some wonderful locations in this part of East Sussex/Kent (Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Bedgbury Forest etc.) The greeting when we arrived was friendly.
Ticehurst
We loved the spacious accommodation, and wonderful hospitality from Ann & Ian. Especially welcome, was the pack of basics like a freshly baked loaf/cupcakes, bacon, eggs, little jug of milk & butter, all just enough to get us through the first night/breakfast. Special thanks to Ian for driving my husband's car to a petrol station to get a top up during the 2021 fuel crisis, which meant we could relax. Can really recommend the apartment for anyone touring the East Sussex/Kent area.
A delightful small hotel, in a quiet location, run by a lovely couple. The room was superb and so were the individually cooked breakfasts. The hotel is a converted from a large old house, full of features and each room is different. Nothing like an identikit chain hotel, it reminded me of an historic American Guest House. A great location for accessing the beautiful and varied scenery of East Sussex.
East Sussex National Hotel was very nice. The room was big, the breakfast was good and there was a good spa and gym. The staff were very nice.
Very classic old school English hotel. Great location for exploring East Sussex. Comfortable and lovely decor in the restaurant.
The property is quite unique and absolutely fascinating. Great location in the heart of the medieval town of Rye, and every member of staff we encountered were most welcoming and first rate in every regard. Couldn’t be more satisfied with our stay.
Every thing. The staff was great. The breakfast was very tasty, the view from our room was to the lake and the forest. There is no better way to get up in the morning and to see this view. Would come back for sure
My sister was having her Diamond wedding lunch in the hotel and so we decided to stay there as well. The staff were friendly and professional.
The room was huge and very confortable. The hotel is beautiful. The staff very nice. Breakfast was great and not that expensive.
The staff at the hotel were extremely professional, helpful and understanding. The food was excellent and the hotel location perfect. The Seaview from my room was great.
the staff were very welcoming and my dog was made to feel like a guest
Excellent position, amazing sea view from the room. The breakfast was complete and good. Room clean and internal parking. Very comfortable stay!
The quality of the food was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and genuinely attentive to our requirements. The room was very charming , leading out to a garden.
The room and staff were amazing! Staff was really helpful and cheerful. I've got a big room with bathtub. Somehow I booked the room with shower but when I told them I need a bathtub, they just gave me the room with bathtub.
. One of the rare times when upon leaving a budget hotel I wasn't left thinking "well, you get what you pay for". The welcome from the staff was utterly fantastic and incredibly professional without being stuffy. Staff were on hand 24 hours a day to help with any issues... extra toilet rolls, soap, coffee and milk for the room. For the price, breakfast was exceptional, limitless quantities of bacon, sausage, eggs etc and a reasonable continental selection. Whilst at this point many hotels are using "staff shortages" as an excuse for poor service, the Shoreview team as a whole were a shining example of making something work even against the toughest of pressures. They are clearer running on a skeleton staff, however, everybody was mucking in and with regular uniform changes the small team seemed to get it all done and all done well. Seeing team members in chefs jackets for breakfast, then in housecleaning pinnies through late morning and then in reception shirts and ties when needed. Utterly amazing. These people deserve their jobs, and are hopefully being compensated well for it. In Summary... amazing Location fantastic, sea view very calming and only having to cross the road to be on the beach.
Great all round stay, best hotel stay in Eastbourne so far. Thanks.
Beautiful facility, very clean and inviting
