- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 64 reviewsHosts were very accommodating of our late arrival time. We were greeted with a spacious tower room apartment with stunning views of the ocean from their cliffside property. The kitchen has been updated in the apartment and generously stocked with tea, coffee (Nescafe), and shortbreads. The local coffee shop on the property is run by the hosts and had a great menu. We were too late to sample the full menu, but the sweets were delicious. We were made to feel at home without the hosts being intrusive at all. Felt like our own little hideaway in a historic castle. Wish we had had more time and better weather to explore the property trails more. They have hundreds of head of sheep (and lambs) and Highland cows on the property, too. Our hosts shared a favorite local whisky sample with us as well and made us fans of Tobermory whisky.Guest review bySherriUnited States

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 173 reviewsThe owners have clearly put a lot of work into making their guests comfortable and have seemingly thought of everything. The cabin is adorable, comfortable, and cozy. The shared spaces were clean and had everything you might need. Lastly, the location was fantastic as it was close to Dunvegan for meals and the castle, and only 22-minute drive from Portree.Guest review byShannonCanada

Broadford is well located to travel across all Skye, but also not too far from the bridge of Skye to reach back to mainland. It has a supermarket and some restaurants. A walk on the shore is beautiful.Guest review bySimoneSwitzerland - 8.0

Picturesque fishing town definitely worth a visit. Access from the ferry port is via narrow roads with passing places. Numerous walks especially enjoyed the trail to the lighthouse. Distillery and cheese factory are a must. Good restaurant and art at the gallery on the seafrontGuest review byLesUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Whilst Pennygate Lodge is a lovely guest house we found Craignure a very drab functional place. We might have been better staying in Tobermory though the available accommodation there was not as good. Two storms approaching from the west starting with torrential rain did not help make our visit to Craignure very pleasant. Close to ferry of course which is a positive. However nearby Duart Castle well worth a visit.Guest review byJanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Port Ellen is perfect for whisky lovers.
Port Ellen is perfect for whisky lovers. There are many great distilleries in walking distance (Port Ellen, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig and soon another one) and many more by bus or taxi (but taxis are sometimes hard to get and there is no Uber available).Guest review bySilvioSwitzerland - 10.0

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our various planned activities - whisky tour, puffin tour, walking Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr. The two shops had enough for the grocery essentials and there were several cafes and restaurants to provide choice. The castle was interesting though a bit pricey.Guest review bySuzieAustralia - 6.0

We stayed at the caravan purely to facilitate an early morning ferry to Harris. We had fish and chips from the local takeaway which were very overpriced for what they were. They’re clearly taking advantage!Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A trip here needs time to enjoy the environment around and at the hotel. It is not very near a large town but a village is not far away. But that also makes it special. Make sure to get there during daylight as the roads leading to the hotel are not highways. The food was delicious and well proportioned. We wanted to stay there for longer.Guest review byRandyAustralia - 10.0
