Just across the street from the Beatrix Potter Garden and just a five-minute walk from the Dunkeld and Birnam train station, this charming hotel had spacious, comfortable, and adorably-decorated Peter Rabbit themed suites. I almost died of cuteness! The hostess was delightful, welcoming, and filled with excellent advice about the area. Strongly recommend; if I ever come back to this area I will definitely stay here.

Check-in was superb, well prepared no fuss and no admin. Reception before dinner was amazing, the lounges and fireplaces set for a relaxed atmosphere where canape starters were served. The restaurant and food exceeded all expectations. The view over the valley from our room was stunning in the night mist and sunrise.

Everything! McKays hotel is right at the heart of the picturesque town of Pitlochry, with all the shops and a lot of eateries at a stone's throw. We stayed in a superior room at the extension, which was recently renovated, spacious, and with a modern and sparkling clean bathroom. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely everything. The hotel was wonderful, with beautifully curated décor and attention to every detail. The owners were warm, thoughtful and always ready to help – it truly felt like being at home. Breakfast was delicious, served with a lovely view of the garden. I even want to try making that compote at home! The scent throughout the house transported you to a magical place, and the cleanliness was exceptional. They also have cozy lounges with fireplaces where you can enjoy a drink after a long day exploring the magical castles of Scotland. We will definitely return, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional and peaceful place to stay during their holidays.

Although I now live just South of the border between Scotland and England, Perthshire is home. I was born and grew up around Loch Tay, Kenmore and Aberfeldy and worked in Perth for 20 years. Who wouldn't love Perth and Perthshire with it's beautiful lush verdant scenes and wonderful loch, mountain and river scapes. Fabulous! I miss it so much when I am not there.

Property was fabulous. Lovely rooms and staff. Breakfast was the best with lots of options. Dinner needs changing up with specials for dinner and dessert. Was same menu every day. Room was a bit stuffy. Need portable fans. We had a window that opened but did not really help. Swimming pool and spa was lovely. Staff was amazing. Shout out to Annia who found a tick on my leg during a massage. No idea wher it came from as i stayed on the path.

We picked a good time to go with all the autumn colours. Birks of Aberfeldy is local to the hotel and was a lovely walk up the gorge with plenty of falls. We also walked into Aberfeldy and had food at one of the many cafes. I used the hotels swimming pool too. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

Crieff is a perfect base for getting out and about to surrounding places of interest. Definitely need a car to travel. The high street pavements are really in need of repairs so we had to be vigilant when walking through town. Not great for people with walking disabilities. Very hilly too.The Ghurcah Indian restaurant was excellent ,,value for money with huge portions that we had to take with us. Quality was amazing.

Peaceful location at the head of Loch Tay, one of Scotland’s most beautiful locations, if you like the ‘great outdoors’ there are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy during your stay. Remember ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes’.
