Amazing English pub with beautifully appointed rooms that maintained their charm. Room was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom was large with all the products you would need. Excellent tea, coffee, water, chocolates and a nip of gin! The breakfast was great - eggs Benedict one day and avocado on toast the next.

Winchester is a fabulous thriving market with lots of speciality shops to visit along with the Cathedral. There is a lot of great eating places at reasonable prices to cater for everyone's needs. Just on the edge of the town leading to the hospital is an Army museum with fantastic grounds which is free to visit....well worth a visit

The Hotel is situated in a excellent position for shopping at Festival Place and the bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and polite and delt with any queries in a professional manner. Rooms were of a good size and the beds were really comfy. The bar area is nice and the meals are reasonably priced, breakfast is plenty full the only down side was the cooked options were lukewarm. Overall an excellent stay at the Red Lion hotel.

Fareham - a contrast of a rich opulent past and a modern high street of barbers, nail and vape shops plus specialist shops makes for an interesting stroll. It has a great new music venue ‘Fareham Live’ And a big plus Fareham Creek - have a pint in ‘The Castle in the Air’

Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose.

Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose. Noise heard from neighbouring rooms and bed stuck against wall! Whole hotel is very dated and a bit too business/conference based rather than comfy/cosy country hotel which it should be. Staff very friendly though and breakfast was enjoyable.

The Quay is an interesting spot. Unfortunately as common elsewhere quite a few shops had closed and it quite sad that landlords are not forced to tidy up the floor areas or affix a presentable hoarding

The town is very quiet and even on a Saturday seems to be dying on it's feet but there are numerous pubs and several reasonably priced restaurants (we were very happy with Frango's and The Golden Dragon. The Andover Tap is worth a call for real ale drinkers. on the positive side, there were no gangs roaming the streets and we felt very safe, Also, their British Legion(open to visitors) has music on a Saturday night and has been very well refurbished. The staff , members we met and the Secretary Sarah were very welcoming. We'd say that Andover is better used as a good base for travelling round the area.

General convenience of external facilities, All needs were close at hand, i.e. car chargers, food stores etc. Close proximity to more sophisticated restaurants etc. The only criticism I have, was that these Days Inn services were only easily car accessible from the southbound M3, otherwise a Northbound detour is required via the nearest "crossover"

This is our second trip to Lyndhurst & surrounding area. We have dogs & most places are dog friendly which is lovely. Only annoyance was the price of paid parking in many carparks, especially as it's hard to judge how much time you need to explore.
