I think I am spoiled after staying at El Tropico Hotel in Lombok! Service, food, location, price, room design, staffs, atmosphere...everything is PERFECT! We stayed at El Tropico during Christmas, booked 2 different types of room - one with bathtub and one without. El Tropico gave a free upgrade to the room of my partner's mom to the same type as a little X'mas gift. This is a sweet surprise and very heartwarming! Service was impeccable!! From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth. Staffs are super friendly and polite, every single staff went above and beyond to make your stay filled with happiness and unforgettable. 2 thumbs up for Wahyu (Front Desk "Santa Claus"), Egis, Sa, Dede, Fikri, Putri..... and all other staffs who we didn't have enough time to get their names. Thank you sooooo much for the top notch service. Food and drinks - yum yum yum. We had cocktail happy hour everyday by the pool. Breakfast - you have a menu to choose from but the options basically covers everything you want for breakfast, portion is big. Don't miss the smoothie bowl and avocado toast!! Choose the package with breakfast, you won't regret. They have 3 very clean swimming pools - a long one on the roof top which we stay everyday, less people and there are some cabanas for hotel guests, more chill out atmosphere. If you prefer some music, the ground floor big pool is fantastic, don't worry, it's not loud, just giving you a bit of tropical groove feel. The 3rd one is on the other building of the hotel. I am not a big fan of semi-open or open ceiling bathroom because I am afraid of geckos, which is almost unavoidable in Indonesia. Our bathroom is the semi-opened ceiling type, it's HUGE with a bathtub! I was a bit worried during check-in but Wahyu assured me there will be NO geckos in the bathroom/bedroom. I was so surprised during our 5 nights stay, I didn't see any gecko in the whole resort at all!!!

I recommend the balinese massage - it was amazing. The restaurant had the best friendly staff and meals as well. We loved the breakfast and we tried a lot of other meals and all of them were tasty - both indonesian and western type meals. The hotel area was very clean. I cannot find anything to improve.

The hotel is really thoughtful, from providing slippers and insect repellent to its nightly turn down service - leaving a bottle of water and biscuits by the bed and plugging in the insect repellent. The hotel also reserves front row sunset seats for its guests, so be sure to let the staff know that you would like to view the sunset. The room and the bathroom were huge, and there was ample space for our clothes and toiletries in the latter.

We liked everything - the location is calm, quiet, but still in the middle of everything. The beach is just outside the door with own sunbeds. The staff is incredibly kind and personal, and the food was just exceptional! Would definitely come back.

Really nice and cozy hotel near the Gili Trawangan Harbour. You can easily walk to the hotel with your luggage. The rooms are clean with strong/hot shower. Special mentions go to Bina and Piyans, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate our needs added a personal touch that made us feel like valued guests. One of the highlights of our stay was the in-house dining experience. The chef's culinary skills were nothing short of remarkable. Each meal was a delightful journey of flavors, meticulously prepared with the freshest ingredients. We highly recommend indulging in the in-house dining option; you won't regret it. The chef's expertise truly shines through, creating a dining experience that rivals some of the finest restaurants we've visited. Additionally, the convenience of having scooters available added a fun and adventurous dimension to our stay. We were able to explore the island at our own pace, discovering hidden gems and soaking in the local culture. The scooters were well-maintained and a great way to venture beyond the villa's immediate surroundings.

Svarga is as beautiful (if not more beautiful) in person than it is in pictures. I got the Mountain View room and managed to catch glimpses of the sunset over Mount Agung a few nights. Incredible views and service all around. The room was very comfy and cozy and I slept really well throughout my 4D3N stay. The staff at Svarga were incredibly attentive and hospitable and attended to all of my asks and queries - they also helped arrange a motorbike booking for me upon request. Breakfast at their in-house restaurant was really good too. I see alot of negative reviews about the water pressure/temperature or bugs being in the facilities but I didn't have that experience. There was a few bugs/ small lizards here and there esp in the bathroom but I think that's normal considering that the shower is in open air and below trees, as the resort is located right in the middle of palm trees and forestry. I really appreciate the maintenance of the resort, considering that it's 10 years old. It looks clean, bright and well taken care of and I would definitely come back to stay at Svarga if I come to Lombok again.

This was our second stay and this time we stayed with anothet family at the 4 bedroom villa (karang). The villa is beautiful, the view is truly spectacular. This property is perfect for a short family getaway: - close to the airport (40min) - our children (8-10yo) and we loved bodyboarding and surfing (teachers can be hired right on the beach). It is a safe yet fun spot for beginners, and there are bigger waves a bit further (plenty of small boats for hire on the beach to get there) - the beach is beautiful, lively but never too crowded (Sempiak Villa is the only beach front hotel) - the restaurant has a fair amount of options and reasonnably priced (we also ate at Segara a few times where the food is delicious)

Michel and Nia are amazing hosts! They immediately made us feel welcome and we spent a lot of time just chatting to Michel about life and Indonesian culture (plus listening to his singing;)) and Nia made us delicious meals and the best banana pancakes ever for breakfast. They took us on a daytrip to discover Lombok island for a very good price and we were able to see some places we would have never seen if we had been travelling alone. The room was clean and comfortable and had a fan. And the dogs were very cute as a bonus!

I have been to Gili T 3 times now and this was by far the comfiest and nicest stay I’ve been too. Incredible rooms with the best pool and pool bar. The gardens were gorgeous with the most insane view of the ocean in the restaurant. The staff were so so kind they helped with bike hire, washing and cleaning our rooms. They didn’t even charge us when our bike chain broke. The free breakfasts were incredibly generous and I ordered more than one coffee and extra salmon every morning and was never charged. Definitely coming back!

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too...

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too far away from the beach and all you need. I loved that they do not have plastic water bottles at all. Fresh refills in glass bottles when you need water. I recommend hiring a bicycle they supply for IDR 50,000 a day.

I like to spend time there!

I like to spend time there! A lot of good restaurants, nice café coffee shops. There is a local market to buy fruits. The main beach in Kuta is awful, but the beaches around are stunning, such as Tanjung Ann (also for surfing), Tampah Beach, and Mawun! Paradise! Restaurants: La Cuna (Mexican), Elamu (great for a romantic dinner), Jiang Nan. If local – highly recommend Lalapan Amanda.

Beautiful island and easy to get around on pushbike. Island hopping and snorkelling trips easy to organise. Island people very friendly. Plenty of restaurants and bars but still a relaxing island that's not full of noisy party people. Highly recommend Gili Air.

Stayed at tne katamaran hotel, stunning hotel with great food and provided a restful quiet break in stunning surroundings. Both restaurants on site provided great food. The spa was also gorgeous. The entire stay was heavenly! Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

I love my scuba, for me Meno is the perfect place!

I love my scuba, for me Meno is the perfect place! Great dive sites, beautiful corals, full of life and colours, good for advanced or open water divers. For non divers can also be perfect, easy snorkeling, no cars or motorbikes, only walk (2 hours around the island) or push bikes. No big shops, very quite, but it's great to stay on the island, enjoy the water and the quite, for shopping Gili T is only 15 mins boat ride, but without the noise.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food! Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water Homestays are the way to go but there are also Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places. Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so...

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving. There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food. The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my stay.

Was exhausted after Mt.

Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy. I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better.. But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

Strawberry picked was fun.

Strawberry picked was fun. Look at google maps to find places with at least 5 good reviews to find somewhere to go. Hiking Pergasagan Hill and spending the night was amazing! Only thing to note though is that there are a lot of mosques here and they are VERY loud. We didn't get much sleep during our stay.

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly...

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly, so many bar and nice restaurants, few places for party as well and of course crystal clear water and white sand beaches are perfect for relax but live music after sunset is my favorite in Gili Trawangan! I just wished that the club would open later than 1am but i guess that’s the local regulations so i get that.
