We had a very good time at the Maldron, a ductile and modern hotel good for either business and family trip.
As a family, we enjoyed the big room, the very nice bathroom and shower and the ample and efficient common spaces, either for a very rich Irish breakfast or for a dinner with ample choice of food and beverages.
The cherry on the pie for us was Maldron's partnership with Club Vitae, a great health and fitness club whose services are included with the booking: a nice swimming pool alongside a pool for kids, clean and with tiepid water, plus steam room, sauna and jacuzzi...we enjoyed that a lot and almost didn't wanted to leave for our scheduled outside activities!
Staff was very kind and prepared at both the Maldron and Club Vitae reception, our time in Limerick was smooth sailing from arrival until check-out.

The late night checking was smooth and quick. Very nice environment and park around the hotel. The design of the Hotel was attractive, nice interior as well. The room and bathroom itself was nice, comfortable, clean and large enough (it was written 8m2 but was ore).

We were just passing through Limerick, but I noted a few key...
We were just passing through Limerick, but I noted a few key points: in the evening it is difficult to have dinner after 9 PM, so you have to settle for fast food. Also, it seemed to me that Limerick is less beautiful than other Irish cities, even though it is located on the River Shannon.

Killaloe / Ballina is a beautiful twin town spanning the river Shannon. Great river walks, the old road bridge is now pedestrianised making it easy to go from the Ballina to the Killaloe side and vice versa. There's a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs with indoor and outdoor areas. The Lakeside Hotel Killaloe (on the Ballina side) serves excellent food and drinks.
Avoid the Bóruna Gastro Pub for now, it's dirty and the service is poor, could be great with it's rooftop bar but needs a refresh of the property and attitudes.
Tuscany Bistro on the Ballina side serves excellent food in with great service
Raw Interiors serves great food and coffee on the Killaloe side quirky building and great service

The personal touches like a bottle of wine n bread was lovely the space was amazing just what the doctor ordered for 2 busy professionals the hot tub was the star of the show for me came home relaxed. I will definitely be back to this amazing escape.

The beds are singles, but comfortable. The bathroom has soap & shampoo in the shower. Soft towels changed daily.
OBriensbridge is a very quiet village. Only one pub, very local. No music or events on during our week there. No places to eat either. The river is lovely good for an evening stroll. We went to Killaloe for pub food.

Beautiful room & very clean. Well stocked with everything you needed for a cold breakfast in your room. Also dining room if you wanted a hot breakfast. Perfect hosts that made you feel so welcome. Lovely bar close by where i felt at ease being on my own. Dromineer is small so cant get lost but is beautiful, peaceful & amazing scenery. Will definitely go back

Lovely scenic area. The local people are warm and friendly. Lots to see and do, I would recommend Scarriff and the surrounding area. There is a lovely car boot sale in Tuamgreaney on a Sunday beside the church -worth a look.

Perfect quiet little town with still plenty to see and do. The tour of the workhouse was exceptional and plenty of places for walks. SuperValu is less then a five minute walk and cater for everything. Locals are friendly

Having to be in the city all wknd it was a little to far out. We had to eat out every day as no cooking facilities which made the holiday even more expensive.
No bin
But had towels which was a bonus
Stating self catering is a little bit of a stretch! yes it has the essentials but I don’t go on away to eat microwave meals.
It has a beautiful view and is quiet.
No shops around so make sure to buy what you need before you go! Don’t forget your shampoo.

Able to easily get around the city walking to sites e.g. Hunt Museum. King John’s Castle. Limerick was. Good base for excursions further west and providing excellent accommodation which may not have been available elsewhere.
