The owners and staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We ate at the restaurant which was excellent and cannot think of a better place to explore Tuscany from. Highly recommend staying at Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santo.

The owners of the hotel are very nice and nothing was a problem the room we had was very quite and the shower and amenities are top rate. my wife and I will definitely stay here again.

When you arrive to the location, you are instantly taken away by the amazing views of the nearby town (which is on a walkable distance, but be careful of the road towards it because people can drive fast there) and the surrounding landscape. These views can be enjoyed all around the property, since it’s located on its “own” hill. But the view from the pool is the most impressive. We were welcomed by the lovely, very friendly hostess who showed us around the property. The room we got was large, nicely decorated and very clean. For us, we had all the necessities we needed (AC, small fridge, outside terrace, hairdryer). Other things for your trips you could easily get from a small supermarket just 2 minutes driving away. The included breakfast, offered from 8:30 until 10:00 was very nice and there were some changes to the options every day. Other towns like Siena, Florence, Montepulciano, Cortona, Pienza, and San Gimignano are within 30-60 minutes driving away. So you will have plenty to see and do, but we advice to lengthen your stay so you can relax and enjoy the property and the pool. Our only wish was to have the option to eat dinner 1 day in the week, so you can enjoy a full day at the property without leaving. Our stay was long (2 weeks) and we had luck to get perhaps the best apartment with the best view from the hill. It was called Campo Lungo appartment 309. We loved own breakfast at the terrace view to the valley which looks similar to Polish wild Bieszczady mountains. We loved restaurant food, wine testing, swimming pool. The staff was great and so nice for our family. We also loved evry route by our SUV up to apartment and down during day at at night. This is a wonderful place to stay, enchanting. The people who own and run the castle are very hands on and seem to care very much about what they do - and how they welcome and treat their guests confirms this. Kacy, Anotonio and Martha were all very helpful and welcoming and made every effort to make sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed, including accommodating my dietary needs at the last minute. Our room was lovely too. This is a beautiful castle in a such lovely location. My most impressive memory is watching the sunset in the distance, over the village roof tops, from the castle’s terrace, with glass of wine in hand. Breathtaking. The castle offers dinner occasionally. We had dinner one night and it was very good. There are good places to eat in the village, within walking distance and also a local bar. The Castle offers an honesty bar. Our breakfasts were very good too. We had a lovely stay and would like to think we will return. This isn’t an area of Tuscany that I have visited before. It is less picture perfect than say Siena or San Gim but more interesting for that. Podere Albereto is located in a quiet area and has the most fantastic views. The accommodation is clean and has modern appliances and anything you need to cook with. There is a water tap that has the best drinking water so no need to buy bottled. The bed was comfortable and air con worked when you needed it although it was cool all the time inside. There is a pool you can use and you also have your own private area with a bbq/oven. You are 20 min from Buonconvento and you can dine at the restaurant 10 mins walk from the agrituismo if you don't want to cook. The manager took care of us even before we reached the place. We have been called to make sure that everithing was ok on our trip and had brief but precise indications, in fact the place is in the middle of astonishing but very off-hand hills, which is what you may be searching for. We got there very late but everything was prepared for us, we could also get some good appetizers and wine despite the kitchen had just closed. A porcupine (Hystrix cristata), 2 foxes and an owl welcomed us on the way to our apartment. We stayed just overnight but the sleep was so recovering from our long trip and the breakfast certainly gave me, my wife and the kids the right energy for the coming day. The place is wonderful and the personnel are all so kind. Before leaving, just because I liked the whole situation, I decided to buy a can of oil (Extra Virgin First Press....ça va sans dir) without even tasting it. The scenery in this area is beautiful - all villas are very special situation on hillsides with glorious views and tranquility. The town is a small, working town, not a tourist attraction. It is not as special as some of the ancient Tuscan towns, but this means it is less busy. Montisi is a small beautiful village. Our apartment had excellent wi-fi coverage but wi-fi in the village is poor. Montisi has several wonderful places to eat but seating is limited. Definitely need a car to get around the area.Guest review byDanUnited States
