A very nice hotel i the centre of Malcesine, perfect location, close to most of places to visit. The room was rather big with a nice balcony with a view over the main square. The room and the bathroom were fresh and clean. Very helpful and kind staff. The breakfast was very good, a lot of thing to chose from. Free parking, even if it took approx 15 min to walk there, but it was a lovely walk by the sea.

FAQs about hotels in Lake Garda

Laidback Resorts and Great Watersports

Set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains, Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake. Colourful houses and laidback resorts line its shores, each with their own unique character.

Sirmione juts out on a promontory from the southern shore and is accessed through a picturesque, 13th-century castle. Desenzano del Garda to the west has a relaxed harbour and wide promenade with lots of pavement cafes overlooking the lake.

To the north is the sheltered bay of Salò, former capital of the Republic under Mussolini – it’s not hard to see why he chose here as an escape. Continuing north the lake narrows until it reaches its point at Riva del Garda by the southern slopes of the Alps. Although watersports are practised all over the lake, the weather conditions here are particularly favourable for sailing and windsurfing.

On Garda Lake’s eastern shore is Malcesine, whose 13th-century castle stands proud on a rock by the water. Further south is the sophisticated promenade of Garda, and close by is Bardolino – famous for its fabulous red wine. Near the lake’s south-east corner is Gardaland, Italy’s most visited theme park.

Booking.com has hundreds of Lake Garda hotels, apartments and B&Bs with direct access to the beaches and shores of this wonderful Italy holiday destination.

Wonderful location on the lake with spectacular views and relaxing hot spring pool that’s open from 9am to 10pm. Breakfast buffet was outstanding and service was first class. The hotel is literally a few hundred yards from the entrance to the old town of Sirmione, with the city wall, gate and castle just a two minute walk to great restaurants and cafés. The front desk staff were amazing and arranged a local car rental service for us at very short notice. By far our most enjoyable moments were at the buffet breakfast and the hot spring pool.

Everything was great! The hotel has top location and is very beautiful. The restaurant and the bar are amazing, excellent food and cocktails combined with unforgettable sunset views. We enjoyed very much the Saturday evening show. The staff is very polite. Overall, if you want to explore this area of Garda lake or just relax, stop searching, this is the best hotel.

We visited the first week of November so it was not overcrowded. Don’t think it would be good during the height of the travel season. That said, we were not aware that the ferries stopped running completely in November. So if you visit them and want to see other towns around the lake having a car would be helpful. But we made the best of it by visiting the thermal baths and spa in Sirmione instead.

Riva del Garda is truly a hidden gem on Lake Garda - no doubt about that. I’d recommend having a car to explore the surrounding areas, unless you’re a confident cyclist. Early mornings are perfect for wandering around; it’s the best time to recharge your inner batteries and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. I love discovering not only the well-known tourist spots but also what lies beyond - every corner, street, beach and trail hides something special. In Riva, this kind of exploration feels especially rewarding. Trust your intuition, create your own routes, and shape your personal vision of what Riva del Garda means to you. For groceries, I usually went to Coop, though Poli is also a great option. I spent the entire month of October in Riva, and even then, I still didn’t manage to see everything I wanted - there’s always more to discover!

A really lovely town with a good range of shops from book shops to a perfumery. Loads of places to eat or just have a coffee and generally very reasonably priced. Our favourite cafe was in the area of the Tourist Information shop where we enjoyed watching the ducks and swans and looking at the boats. It's a very clean and well maintained town and a delight to wander around.

Nice, pretty little town and well located.

Nice, pretty little town and well located. Good public transport links. I was a bit disappointed the buses were the best way to get around the lake rather than the ferries. With a number of cities within easy reach or smaller villages around the lake, the holiday can be as busy or as relaxing as you want. Nearby Gardaland great for the kids and there is a free bus from the train station.

Great selection of bars, restaurants and cafes, well situated on the lake to get to other parts by bus or boat. Compact town. very easy and quick to get around. Got up and down the lake to Sirmione, Gard, Malcesine, over to Limone. Portese and Gardone slower pace but lovely on the West side of the lake. Classique is a must restaurant as is is Taverna Marconi in Lazise. Too many nice bars to name. Nice market while we were there with great food and leather goods. We didn't do watersports but there are plenty of options, big motor camper sites in the town.

Beautiful small little town, loads of restaurants within walking distance. The castello di Arco is amazing - worth a visit. Loved Antica Corte for pizza and carne salada. Really enjoyed SpaghettiHaus for delicious pasta & pizza. Alla Lega for a fancier dinner. Bar BuonGusto, very close to the apartment was wonderful for my morning cappuccino & brioche, run by a very lovely family, also has other breakfast & meal options. Close to Lago di Garda if you have a vehicle so great for exploring northern lake towns or for day trips in the Dolomites.

Great and beautiful country not only lake.

Great and beautiful country not only lake. Riva, Torbole, Limone and Malcesice are quiet and friendly cities. Siermione and Peschiera standard to visit. Enjoy there a nice views from Monte Baldo! Be aware that parking and travelling time can be horrible i summer season. Plan you trips to soon morning otherwise you spend hours in queues waiting for park space. For travelling from notrh to south use A22 highway. Travelling from Torbole to Peschiera around lake takes 2 hours (cyclists, willages, queues)

Garda is a beautiful town with lots of lovely restaurants along the promenade. The town is ideally placed for exploring the other towns on Lake Garda by bus and boat. We visited Desenzano and Sirmione to the South, Malcesine and Torbole to the North. We also went to Peschiera and got the Frecciarossa train to Venice for the day.
