Lavishly exquisite hotel, with an atmosphere of the elegance of a bygone era. The room was very clean, well equipped, more than spacious and uniquely luxurious, with a breathtaking view of the Adriatic and the city's coastal landscape. The staff were very friendly and courteous and assisted very much in making our stay even better! A rich and very varied breakfast was on offer. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in Duino. The location was perfect for us—just a short walk from the UWC college, with bus stops and great local restaurants right around the corner. The hosts were incredibly kind, always helpful, and greeted us with genuine warmth and a smile every day. Our room was clean, comfortable, and tidied daily, which we really appreciated. While we didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast, it looked absolutely delicious each morning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

The accommodation is fantastic, deserving eleven points out of a maximum of ten. The garden is simply beautiful, with a sparkling clean swimming pool, comfortable garden furniture, mediterranean vegetation, lots of flowers and sculptures. The room is very comfortable and quiet, and the children really enjoyed having their own little room on the loft. We also had a small terrace overlooking the garden. The hosts are very kind and helpful. Duino was an excellent starting point for exploring the area and there were also sights to see here: the Duino Castle and the Rilke Trail. We went to the Sistiana beach to swim because the Duino beach was not that good.

This is truly a 5-star experience out of 5. The room is spacious enough for a comfortable stay. Every detail—from the crisp, white towels and feather-soft, high-quality linens to the large shower (especially for Italy) with excellent water pressure and the comfortable beds—leaves no doubt about the quality of this hotel. In November, the heating ensured the room and bathroom were wonderfully warm and cozy. The private parking on the hotel premises is convenient and secure.

We booked a camping spot for our tent and we could choose the spot in the booked area ourselves! The spots were spacious with a lot of shade and the restrooms and showers were extremely clean! There is a little train that brings you down to the beach but you can also easily walk there. It's a nice walk down the cliffs through a forest.

Trieste is an excellent place to visit.

Trieste is an excellent place to visit. Food, wine, cultural heritage, complex history, a mix of cultural influences, Habsburg, Italian, Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian are felt and mixed in an extraordinary assemblage in this city. Also, not to forget Barcola, beaches nearby, too, and maritime identity. Also coffee...Illy in Trieste tastes different from anywhere else in the world.

Muggia is a small coastal town near Trieste...and it is a very happening town that comes alive at night...where families come together at the central square for ice creams and some good food...I really liked the entire vibe of this town it's very clean and quiet and extremely relaxing...the restaurant has fresh seafood options if you're into seafood and amazing wines and a really good seafront to walk around. i really liked it...calm and relaxing place.

There is no modern bakery or coffee house in the entire village. We felt that a bit of progress or a more modern atmosphere was missing—perhaps a case of resting on one’s laurels. However, we really enjoyed the nearby fish restaurant, where the staff was very welcoming.

I wish we had more time to explore the area. We found a cute part of town with an amazing restaurant. We plan on going back to Trieste next year and would stay there again. The only issue we had with the unit was the area is a little run down, and the TV is very old and will not support streaming. Other than that it was perfect for our needs.

Trieste is a must if you have a sense of history, culture, cuisine, and open to the special atmosphere of the city. A very special mix of Italian culture, Austro-Hungarian past, Slovenian influence, and he Northern Mediterranean. But if you are not interested in these, you'll probably find it a pleasant but not very exciting city.

We liked Muggia.

We liked Muggia. It is small and easy to navigate the old town. The main Piazza has several bars and cafes, friendly and welcoming for a drink or a meal, and fun for people watching. There are more cafes and bars towards the waterfront. Just stroll around and enjoy the relative tranquility. We arrived in Trieste by train, taxi to Muggia was around 35 euros. We took a day trip back to Trieste by ferry (fun in itself), and did lots of walking from Muggia. It's a nice respite from the tourist circuit, and so pretty with stone buildings and small alleyways, plus the castle (exterior) and Duomo to enjoy. Muggia Vecchio, up on the hill behind, was well worth the walk.

The village itself has not much to offer (in terms of sightseeing), but for me as a base for exploring the karst by bike it was perfect. There are also some restaurants, cafes and pubs - so it is not necessary to drive down to Triest every time. But if necessary, there is a good connection by bus.

Tree day is a beautiful city to walk around.

Tree day is a beautiful city to walk around. We enjoyed our four days there before our cruise. there is an interesting church, historical, and a castle with a wonderful balcony at the castle where you can have cocktails or coffee and sit and look out at the water. There is also some decent shopping in this town. We also drove to some of the neighboring towns that are close by. Another great tip for Trieste is a Serbian restaurant called Rustica. Great people great food.
