New ZealandFantastic historic castello! Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The staff exceptional and the owner very friendly, helpful and a delight! Good country location and easy drive into Sienna and a good quiet base for visiting surrounding villages in tuscany. The restaurant cuisine was also an added bonus and very nice indeed!

It has a well equipped kitchen and bathroom, very comfortable bedroom and a pleasant living room. The contact with the hosts was easy and they were very friendly and helpful. Federica and her husband welcomed us with such a warm smile and made us feel really confortable, showed us arround our apartment. The apartment is very big, 2 bedrooms in opposite side and a kitchen in between and each has its own batroom. This is not o property for those who seek luxury, although you have all the facilities, but seek originality of the Tuscan vibe anda warm place to stay. The house itself dates from 18 century so it ia just amazing. Besides the goodies with which we were welcomed, the breakfast…. Oh my God… you can not ask for more. Federica also asked us after 2 days of we preffer something else so she could personalize our breakfast. Also she gave us a lot of helpfull advises on where to go, to eat and park, and this is something she does with everyone that comes, but even so, you can see she does everything with passion. The next day we woke up in a perfect Tuscan scenery, it was magical. We relaxed a bit by the pool, in the evening we stayed drinking a glass of wine in the garden… perfect relaxation. I could not recommend this place more. People who left bad reviews…. Probably they were searching for something else or they just do not want to fully enjoy a holiday. Of course they are many more luxurious places in Tuscany but this got a perfect value for price we paid . Our stay was long (2 weeks) and we had luck to get perhaps the best apartment with the best view from the hill. It was called Campo Lungo appartment 309. We loved own breakfast at the terrace view to the valley which looks similar to Polish wild Bieszczady mountains. We loved restaurant food, wine testing, swimming pool. The staff was great and so nice for our family. We also loved evry route by our SUV up to apartment and down during day at at night. The manager took care of us even before we reached the place. We have been called to make sure that everithing was ok on our trip and had brief but precise indications, in fact the place is in the middle of astonishing but very off-hand hills, which is what you may be searching for. We got there very late but everything was prepared for us, we could also get some good appetizers and wine despite the kitchen had just closed. A porcupine (Hystrix cristata), 2 foxes and an owl welcomed us on the way to our apartment. We stayed just overnight but the sleep was so recovering from our long trip and the breakfast certainly gave me, my wife and the kids the right energy for the coming day. The place is wonderful and the personnel are all so kind. Before leaving, just because I liked the whole situation, I decided to buy a can of oil (Extra Virgin First Press....ça va sans dir) without even tasting it. This is an ideal location for anyone who wants quiet rural beauty. This stop was between busy city visits so it felt like a great change of pace on our 5 week vacation. We stayed for 4 nights and there is just enough to do in nearby cities if you want a daily outing(Assisi, for example), but honestly I opted out of some of those and enjoyed the pool and outdoor and indoor beauty of the property. There are a couple of other apartments on the property but you really only become aware of others at the pool which is large and offers plenty of space between loungers. An awful experience. Appalling management supervision. For a medium priced stay so much more was expected. In 32 degree heat the pool opens but one isn't offered any service until midday. Surly waiter at pool. Items disappeared from our room. No feedback from management, except an apology and offer to replace. Dirty coffee/tea cups left unreplaced/cleaned. Coffee station not replenished. Same 8 items on main (and only) restaurant menu for 5 days. Food not good. They boiled a steak!
