We had the warmest welcome from the sweetest staff — they were there for us throughout our entire stay and nothing was ever too much to ask. Our room was spacious, spotless and the bathroom was even more beautiful than expected. The perfect place to pause your trip for a day, relax by the pool and unwind. Far enough from the busy areas to feel peaceful, yet close enough (a short bike ride!) to all the main sights in Anuradhapura. We had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and everything was delicious — compliments to the chef. A special shout-out to Janake and the team, who arranged our Wilpattu National Park tour, made sure breakfast packs were ready for our early morning, helped us with tuk-tuks whenever we needed to go into town, and shared great tips for the rest of our trip. All in all, we won’t forget this stay or the incredible hospitality. Truly a place we can wholeheartedly recommend!

Super kind hosts, they were so attentive. They made us dinner even though we arrived late, they even got up at 5am to make us breakfast to bring with us on our safari. Location was great as we’re close to the safari. The room was comfortable and everything we needed. Would definitely recommend staying here!!

It is more beautiful a place than the pictures-if that’s possible! We spent 3 days, one just relaxing in the premises and we don’t think we can get over it! The people working are really helpful, really kind and provide you with anything you need. From their welcome until their tips for our departure, they were tireless and obliging. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Also, they can arrange any visit in the nearby monuments and cities with excellent service. Bonus for us: on the day of our departure monkeys were playing outside our room, which we enjoyed so much. Can’t recommend it enough!!!!!

It was only a one-night stay but really a great experience. We were received with a cold drink and even had the chance to go to the lake for a walk and see animals. The dinner was delicious and the next morning the safari was a great experience, we saw leopards and that really made my day. Nice hospitality and good communication in order to make all the plans. Would recommend a stay here without any doubts and Wilpattu is a great National Park.

The lady of the house is very friendly and helpful. She makes a very welcoming atmosphere. She cooks excellent meals herself, so we recommend her cooking classes although we didn't try them, our visit was too short to cook. The room was clean and spacy, with wifi and airconditioning. The vicinity was pleasantly quiet. We loved her garden and the garden kitchen where meals were made and served.

- Adorable, thoughtful and highly welcoming owners doing their best to help with anything you may need. They arranged a tuk-tuk drive so I could visit the city and my guide really was the best too, then they arranged a taxi drive to Trincomalee at a great price with a very sympathetic and knowledgeable driver as well. - Great location and good recommendations/directions by Shehan (the owner) for places to have food/a juice by a beautiful lake, for example. - Spent some time with Shehan's wife and their son and really felt at home with them. They offered me some tea and we had some nice conversations. - Good bedroom and even could use an adaptor and mosquito repellent put at the customers' disposal in it.

The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

The stay in the tree house was amazing. The place is very nice and clean. It has a nice pool outside too with a small pool for kids aswell. There were rabbits, gooses and chickens.Almost like a tiny Zoo.😁 The breakfasts and the dinners were so delicious that we ate 3 times there. They have the best pineapple jam and kottu rotti in the world!!So tasty an very delicious. There was a lot of variety and we were able to try a lot of sri lankan specialities! 😋Everything was explained very well. The two women in the kitchen do an amazing job! We have to mention the friendly staff: They were amazing and they took very good care of us! Namal, the host, is so friendly!! He organised all the tours for us and answered all the questions about culture, food, trips and sri lanka. WE RECOMMEND THE VILLAGETOUR AND THE SAFARI WITH ASANKEH, WHO LIVES NEAR BY. He takes very good care of you and the Nature in the Nationalpark.Thank you for hosting us. 🤩🤩🤩🥰We would stay with you anytime again.🙏🙏🙏🙏

The hotel Heritage in Anuradhapura was located in a very calm and serine environment facing the lake. The hotel premises was well maintained. The friendly service rendered by the hotel staff was beyond our expectations. Our room was clean tidy and spacious. Foods were very fresh and delicious. Mr.Hemantha, the FMB manager welcomed us to the restaurant in a great manner. The way he handled the restaurant staff in order to provide an effective service to the guests was admirable. The CEO, Mr.Sumith Wijesinghe was very friendly and supportive. We witnessed how he personally paid attention to guests by going round tables during meal times and speaking to them very cheerfully. Music at the lake side dinner was amazing. Highly appreciate the efficient service rendered by the hotel under the guidance and supervision of Mr.Wijesinghe. Highly recommend the Hotel Heritage. Hope to stay there again in our next visit to Anuradhapura.

Wow, this is the place to stay in Anuradhapura! Super clean, big comfy bed with mosquito net and 5 (!) sockets (under the desk), excellent breakfast, very clean pool — small, but big enough to make some laps or cool down in. Nice outdoor area to chill. The host and her family were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with whatever you wanted to know and giving those extra tips where and how to go around, not only in Anuradhapura, but elsewhere in Sri Lanka as well. They also speak good English. If I ever go to Anuradhapura, I will definitely stay here again. It's located a small ride — about 6 minutes — from city center, in a quiet area. During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Not good not fair over change for food n breakfast n vegetarian dinner They said 5000/=rupees change nearly 8000/= with out breakfast Over charge for water bottles Tea and breakfast Every thing not reasonable Please consider

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
