A bit far from the airport but stuff helped to arrange transfer to us in advance. Super nice place to stay for couple of nights and great beggining of the trip, highly reccomended!

Staying at Ceylon Resort Wilpattu was like being welcomed into a family. From the moment we arrived, the owners and staff made us feel right at home. The warm, familial atmosphere was truly one of the highlights of our stay. To our surprise and delight, we were even given an upgrade for our accommodation, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and perfectly designed to blend comfort with the natural beauty of the surroundings. A special mention goes to the Roshan's wife, whose cooking was absolutely phenomenal. Every meal was a feast of authentic Sri Lankan flavors, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and an extra touch of love. Dining at the resort felt like sharing a meal with family, and it was easily some of the best food we had during our entire trip. The service was beyond outstanding. The team went above and beyond to ensure every guest had an unforgettable experience. Whether it was arranging our safari to Wilpattu National Park, providing insightful tips about the area, or simply checking in to make sure we were comfortable, their attention to detail and genuine care were unmatched. The combination of the beautiful surroundings, exceptional hospitality, the surprise upgrade, and world-class cuisine made this stay truly special. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, connect with nature, and feel genuinely cared for, Ceylon Resort Wilpattu is the perfect choice. I cannot recommend the stay and Service highly enough!

Had a great experience at the Leopard Inn Wilpattu. Prathap is a great manager and was really attentive. He adds to the atmosphere of the exceptional view of the Leopard Inn. Would recommend to anyone for a calm, serene and quiet stay with nature.

The safari with the guide that was very experienced, a 10/10 experience. The warm hospitality from the host and his wife. they were kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. What a wonderful stay we had at Taru Villas. We booked last minute and were greeted warmly by Mark when we arrived. We quickly realised that as it was low season, we had the entire hotel to ourselves! We were upgraded to the best room on the property with a gorgeous jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Full board was included in the room price and we enjoyed an outstanding 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked specially for us by the chef. The key highlight for us was the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely touch at the end of our trip was that they had arranged for us to plant a tree in their gardens, and had prepared a beautiful plaque with our names inscribed. It was a truly memorable trip and couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend to everyone!

We were are very lucky to choose Koddu. It’s absolutely new hotel in a very beautiful and quiet place. We were very first guests there. It’s really 5 star service!!! All staff was full of hospitality!!! Managers - Mr. Bhathiya , Anuradha. Waiters- Suranga and Tarushi!!! Thank you guys!!! Chief Mahinde and his cuisine was absolutely amazing!!! Hotel situated near to Duotone kite station. It’s very comfortable if you do kiting like we are. I’ll definitely will come back!!!

This place is a true little paradise! Martinez and his colleague looked after us very well, kindly upgrading us to a bigger bungalow with a kitchen as we were the only guests. The bungalow was perfectly clean and so were the pool and the rest of the grounds. The location is great with the property being right by the beach. We were even allowed to cut some coconuts out of the trees and enjoy fresh coconut water. They have a cook that can you provide you with meals, one evening we ordered a fish BBQ at the beach, which was fantastic! We can highly recommend Nayan’s Paradise!

A special shout-out to the property manager, who made us feel welcome from the start. His attention to detail and genuine interest in making our stay as comfortable as possible went above and beyond our expectations. It’s clear that he takes pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly, and his hospitality was top-notch. The chef deserves an equally glowing review. Every meal was a delight – from traditional Sri Lankan dishes to international favorites, everything was cooked to perfection. The fresh seafood was particularly spectacular, and we loved the variety of flavors and ingredients that were used. Dining at the hotel was truly an experience in itself. The rooms are beautifully designed with comfort and style in mind. Whether you’re staying in the cozy beachfront chalets or the stylishly modern rooms, you’ll find everything you need for a perfect stay. The open-air feel, combined with excellent amenities, made for an incredibly peaceful and relaxing environment. The sea breeze and sounds of the waves just outside my window created the ideal atmosphere for unwinding after a day of adventure. We had the pleasure of going on a boat ride to experience dolphin watching, and it was absolutely magical! The boat ride itself was scenic and peaceful, and seeing the playful dolphins in their natural habitat was an experience we’ll never forget.

A special shout-out to the Food and Beverages Manager, Ganidu Yapa, Gayan Jayasuriya, and the talented pastry chef for preparing the most delicious eggless desserts – especially the best biscuit pudding – and a delightful spinach pie! To the restaurant staff: thank you for your warm service and constant smiles, even during the busiest moments. A big thank you as well to the animation and sports organiser, Imantha for arranging the enjoyable badminton match – it added a fun and active touch to our stay. Your dedication truly stood out. I really enjoyed my stay. The wooden bungalows are very rustic and cozy, with open roofing and an outdoor shower. The garden is well-maintained too. The school has a WhatsApp group where they share information about lesson planning, wind conditions, and activities, which I found really well-organized. Dinners are served with all the guests at the kite center, which was just 5 minutes away by bike. Safran was my instructor. He is very experienced and teaches in a great way—always calm, helpful, and full of good advice. I made great progress thanks to him. I felt like in a kitesurf community . Thanks a lot to Safran and all the Margarita staff!

Perfect stay at the Karanukarala Ayurveda resort, especially the Ayurveda treatment was wonderful. In the beginning, the crew told me it was fully booked, but in the end, they managed to schedule it for me. The room was big, and really clean and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there, especially to relax (recommend the yoga and meditation classes).

Kalpitiya is an enchanting destination.

Kalpitiya is an enchanting destination. It's the only place in Sri Lanka where you can take kitesurfing lessons and safely practice kitesurfing with expert assistance from seasoned local kitesufers. Although it's generally considered an arid landscape, even in August, one of the driest months in Sri Lanka, it was largely green and without sweltering heat. Probably, the strong wind causes the heat to dissipate. There's a long stretch of fairly clean beach to explore. Many hotels to stay in and many restaurants to dine at. If you take the train from the Colombo fort railway station like me, you can get down at Palaviya station and walk about 100 metres to reach the road leading from Palaviya to Kalpitiya and take a bus from there and then get down at either Kurinjipitiya or Kalpitiya depending on where you plan to visit and/or stay in. Apart from Kitesurfing, you can go sightseeing, see dolphins, bask in the sunshine, take boat tours, cycle and more in Kalpitiya.

Beautiful nature of the national park with the possibility of observing many wild animals, a paradise for bird watchers. If you are lucky, you can see a leopard or elephants. Very good accessibility by bus from Anuradhapura. Near the entrance to the park there is a large selection of accommodation and safari providers.

You need a car or a Tuk Tuk to take you anywhere as it is away from any shops ect The hotel was very helpful and arranged a Tuk Tuk to take us to the market and religious site. Be mindful regarding the beaches as they are not fit to swim in due to the plastic rubbish and pollution in the water. We went for a walk on the beach but came back after a few hundred metres as it was too depressing to go any further due to the plastic rubbish all over the beach and the millions of microplastic balls that we thought were stones and then realised what it was. Very disturbing

Mr. Marcus will make your trip a real holyday. Even wild crocodiles that live in the nearby river dream to move to the magic canals of Puetz Travels Beach Resort. I wish i were among the lucky ones. it is my ancestral hometown.

it is my ancestral hometown. I visited Katuneriya in order to find my long-lost friends from childhood and to find survivors of deceased relations. I also discovered most of the by lanes towards seaside have become narrower due to encroachments and descendants of my relatives have migrated to Italy. Many large villas built over the years, resembling Italian houses lying empty. most of the households have better living standards and few people are engaged in fishing.

Kalpitiya is a very beautiful destination. A place to stay for a few days. There are many places for you to enjoy and visit. But be careful when you find a place to stop. Be more careful with low-cost places. Dinuda Villas is a very beautiful place. Babzy and the team are doing very well.

This is one of the largest national parks in Sri Lanka, and it has the highest leopard density. But please don't just go and do the usual leopard watching, it gets crowded. Talk to your tour guide or hotel and do some of the less-travelled routes inside the park, and you will enjoy the nature of Sri Lanka on a whole other level. You might not see any big mammals, but you will understand and enjoy the nature, history and biodiversity. If you are going, spend one day doing the usual "touristy" route, then spend the rest of your time exploring the less-travelled routes. There is magic in these jungles. Go find it!

We planed our trip for three days. There are several places to visit in Kalpitiya. We went to Kalpitiya Dutch fort, also Kalpitiya Dutch church. St. Anne's National Shrine is located nearby. It is known as Thalawila Church too. No matter what religion you follow, St. Anne’s Church in Thalawila is one of the most ancient and wonderful of all Christian shrines in Sri Lanka. Our third day was very exiting because we planned a boat ride to Baththalangunduwa island. Baththalangunduwa is an island off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka, reachable from Kalpitiya. The boat ride from Kalpitiya is roughly 32 kilometers long and takes approximately 3.5 hours. Camping on this island is becoming increasingly popular among local tourists.

Full day safari was excellent. Saw everything. 5 leopards.

Full day safari was excellent. Saw everything. 5 leopards. Sloth bear. Elephants. Cross. Water Buffalo. And many more. If you have to choose I revommend afteroon from 4pm for best chance of seeing animals when it gets cooler and they become active for the evening .
