The location is just 50 metres away from the entrance to the Sinharaja rainforrest, but you are already in the rainforest setting in the stay. Pikiri is a kind and warm person who made our stay so lovely, he made sure the food was prepared according to our dietary requirements and also helped us find a quick and cheap way to Colombo after our flight was rescheduled.

We stayed in Birds Paradise Hotel for three nights and birding around Sinharaja. The staff are very friendly and always helpful to our needs. And I was satisfied with the breakfast and dinners in the hotel which comforted me whenever I needed. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the morning views and peaceful atmosphere. Our experience at the Rainforest Nest was absolutely wonderful, thanks to incredible hosts Saman and Umesha. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and their kindness and care shone throughout our stay. Saman took us on an unforgettable day exploring the rainforest - his deep knowledge of the area’s flora and fauna made the experience truly special, and we learned so much. The setting of the Rainforest Nest is breathtaking – peaceful, serene, and surrounded by nature. If you have the time, enjoy relaxing on the balcony and taking in the surroundings and watching the birdlife. Umesha’s delicious home-cooked meal was another highlight. And they even helped us arrange a taxi to Ella. A special mention to their young son, Arjun, the best tuk-tuk driver in the area! Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a stunning location with exceptional hosts. We only regret not booking a longer stay. Thank you!

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

Our stay at Aadiv Twin Villas was the absolute highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautiful and full of charm, located in one of the most stunning regions we visited. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful – he truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well cared for. There’s also a lovely swimming pool with breathtaking views – the perfect place to relax and take in the surroundings. And the food… absolutely unforgettable! We had the best curry in all of Sri Lanka right here. A perfect place for anyone looking for comfort, warmth, and a real taste of Sri Lankan hospitality.
