On Friday morning, I had the bright idea to take my Latvian girlfriend to the beach. Without giving it any thought, I reserved a room for the night when I noticed how close they were to the sea. We left Riga and drove there right away, taking about an hour. We hurried to the beach after arriving, sunscreen and towels in hand. After basking in the sun for a few hours, we decided to head over to the main street, which is about a 10-minute walk away, because we were craving smoked fish. There, we discovered a place that sells local smoked fish of all kinds, including smoked eel. We returned to our bungalow oasis with our delicacies and drinks, and we dined on our balcony with a view of the lovely garden. They have the biggest jasmine bush I have ever seen, and there are plenty more bushes, ferns, and shrubs to test your botanical knowledge. Find the vinegar tree, if you can! The room was warm and cozy. We weren't expecting to see a TV with many sports and movie channels. Even high-end hotels don't usually have sports channels available. Although we could have used a few more pillows, I thought the bed was comfortable. Similar to windows in America, these windows also have screens on them. We kept the screened windows open at night to enjoy the cool sea breeze, and I didn't even get bit by a mosquito while I was there. The blackout window shades were a real bonus, as it gets light outside at 4:00 AM. The following morning, after putting on my hometown Cleveland Cavaliers hoodie, I made coffee and turned on the TV. I couldn't believe that the Cleveland Cavaliers were playing Orlando! Who could have imagined that I could have breakfast and watch an NBA game? We loved our stay overall, and the room was well worth it. We sat on the balcony for hours on end, taking in the sound of the sea and listening to birds singing in the garden. This is a great spot for a romantic getaway, a family trip to the beach, or a trip to have a barbecue in the garden.

The reasons for the complaints of the previous visitors were the same (hard mattresses, missing shower shelf), but this was compensated by the house's unique design and location, which left the feeling of a real forest of silence, because during the construction, trees and bushes were left as much as possible - respect! That's why it felt completely private, even though there are two other houses on the same lot within a radius of about 100 m. There is no air conditioning in the house, but even on really hot days the house maintains the temperature very well (leave the doors and windows closed during the day). We missed a large, soft sofa (the existing one is quite hard, although it offers more surface area when opened). When the new sofa arrives, we will start visiting all the time!:)

We really enjoyed our stay in this Vasarnīca. The whole process from booking to key pick up was hassle free due to excellent communication from our host. The property was in great condition with everything you need provided. Beds are comfortable & house is in a great location driect across the road from a beautiful beach. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to rent in Saulkrasti😁

Very clean and comfortable room. Everyday cleaning room service. Restaurant in the hotel. Nice and polite staff (good speaking also Russian and English) Sea and pines around - it's fantastic! 2 minutes walking to the seaside. 10 minutes walking to the shops. Just one hour from Riga.

Nice location close to the beach, quiet surroundings (more people and noise later on in the week). Great parking place (even though no lift to the apartment, but parking really close by). Spacious apartment.

The location was incredible, nearby beach. Parking was ok, but a am not sure, was it legal to park there, there was no any separation from paid parking area. Rooms were clean.

Very pleasent hosts, showed around, made us feel welcome. Nice sauna and hot tub, close to the Saulkrasti city. Would love to come back there again!

We loved the outdoor area. Also our room was very beautiful and well equipped. Peaceful area but close to the main road.
