Perfect location for visiting local cenotes and you can even use the bicycles from the hotel. The yoga was relaxing and the temezcal experience was really unique and special.

A town of two halves
We booked two nights in Peurto Morelos on our tour of Mexico and Belize, but could have managed with one night as we did not find places of interest close by. The resort has a more relaxed feel than other 'Riviera Maya' locations. The town is split in two - one part by the sea and the other by the main road. I guess the main road part is the real modern Mexico.

Akumal is a small town in the Riviera Maya, between Tulum and Cancún. We loved the fact that it is not as crowded as other beaches. Restaurants that I recommend, Lol Ha which is in Akumal Beach (excellent food). If you go to downtown Tulum, " La hoja verde" is a very good vegetarian restaurant, and prices are very reasonable. After that you can walk North through the street little stores, and you will find a gelato Store, which is great. If you go to beaches in Tulum, go to "Zamas" restaurant where food was very good.

Overall, the hotel is very pretty, clean, and new. The pool area is nice and the beach was clean. The housekeeping staff and waiters were nice. There were a couple gluten free options at the buffet which was great!

Papaya was located in a great area walking distance to a busy part of Tulum. Since the beginning, the hotel staff were very kind and happy to have us. We met with Javi (staff) and he was able to give us a great tour of the hotel and also of their great restaurants and beach clubs. Additionally, explained all the upcoming events for their guests which is a huge plus. We were able to be in close contact with staff at all times and had a great 2 day stay.
