The staff is really helpful and nice, we felt well welcomed! The room was amazing - very comfortable bed, nice big TV, hot water, great AC++! Rooftop pool was clean and nice, really enjoyed it early in the morning and at night. Emplacement is amazing, next to Paseo Montejo and still easily walkable to the Plaza Grande. Our favorite coffee shop was just 5min away (Soco) and other great options too. Would go again without hesitation. There was not a ton of guests which made it extra relaxing

They were always ready to assist with any request, ensuring that my experience was stress-free and enjoyable. The location of Puerta Del Cielo is nothing short of breathtaking. Perched along the pristine coastline, the views of the ocean were absolutely mesmerizing. Watching the sunset from the private terrace was a daily highlight, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was a soothing lullaby every night. The accommodations were not only comfortable but also beautifully designed. The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings added a touch of elegance to the entire experience. The villa I stayed in was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully appointed, making it a perfect sanctuary for relaxation. The pool area was a wonderful place to unwind and soak up the sun with an amazing view of the ocean. Puerta Del Cielo exceeded all my expectations. It's a paradise where you can disconnect, rejuvenate, and appreciate the natural beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula. This hotel is conveniently very close to the Merida airport. It is a very clean, comfortable hotel with a lovely pool and nice rooms. The restaurant is very good. You can eat indoors or outdoors. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of my group of 12 (7 rooms). For the location and the quality, it is reasonably priced.

Authentic Mexican environment, delicious traditional Yucatán food, excellent service from all the lovely staff. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend it. The view from the room was amazing and it had a hammock! It is 25 mins away from progresso and 10 mins away from the archeological site.

I don't understand anyone's concerns about this place. It's a beautiful 500 year old hacienda, obviously there are tiny things. But the rooms are renovated, everything works well, the pool is clean and the birds are singing all day and night. It's a lovely place to stay at!

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

The central city area was very peaceful and had a lot of folks enjoying the evening and park area. Plenty of restaurants and delis in the area. Great city stay in to enjoy the nearby cenotes and ruins. I think a 3 day stay is the minimum to get to explore the city and the surrounding areas. Very friendly people, and it was great seeing the country, instead of being stuck in the Cancun areas that are packed with tourists.

Progreso is just an amazing town.

Progreso is just an amazing town. If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, I think Progreso feels like PV back when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were wandering around. A little less crazy busy, a little smaller, a little more town than city. People are awesome, the Yucatan culture is very present and it has a different vibe than the Atlantic side. The Gulf Of Mexico is truly a guilty pleasure. We spent hours in that warm bath water. Progreso has great people. great food, great sites, a great beach, and a wonderful Malecón/Boardwalk combo. The boardwalk side is on the other side of the Pier and it is also awesome with a different vibe. It has a local family feel and an amusement park. Just a great stay. Over all the stay was great, hacienda was beautiful staff was not the best customer service! Waiters were great receptionist were not attentive perhaps they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome! Would I go again yes! Hacienda was beautiful, and I will definitely go back just because of the comfort, and I would like to spend more time to enjoy the pool and peaceful feeling. I would also go back to try the spa, si ce I didn’t have the time. If I go back and I receive the same customer service from receptionists might go to another spa!

We loved Izamal, it's such a beautiful city and the people are super friendly. Even the guy selling fresh juice in the town square was really friendly, yelling out good morning. Izamal is a visually stunning town as well, photographers will love it so don't forget your camera! And the food was delicious everywhere we went. My friend had never been before and we both want to go back.

I had very high expectations for the place, and it is nice,...

I had very high expectations for the place, and it is nice, but I think I was expecting something different. The road really influenced my perception of the place — driving there is literally nerve-racking. For an hour and a half, my heart was racing as I kept looking for the next pothole because the road is in terrible condition. Without a doubt, you could end up with a broken car at any moment. This was a very stressful part of the trip. The beach had a lot of trash everywhere, and the smell of the water wasn’t pleasant. I had a nice time overall, but I would very hardly return after the adventure it takes to get in and out through that road.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

I did not visit the town of Santa Elena but stayed at the Pickled Onions Hotel as a base to visit the nearby ruins of Uxmal. I think Santa Elena makes an excellent location for anyone that would like to visit both Uxmal and Kabah as these are just few minutes away by car

The house is beautiful and comfortable, and in a great location close to the beach. Our host was very friendly and eager to accommodate us in any way to make our stay more enjoyable. He gave us numerous suggestions of things to do while in town that were very fun, and any time we had questions or needed anything, he responded right away. If we ever return to visit Sisal, we would definitely stay there again.
