Extremely friendly staff, hardworking and helpful. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. Room is very nice, beautiful pool and great (diverse) breakfast. Nice scenery behind the hotel, with a quick access to the main beach (a few minutes walk). The open space concept of the hotel is very romantic + there is a bar at the lobby.

We stayed in Lavanya for 10 nights and it was an absolute delight. Amazing hotel - brand new and so so beautiful. Great breakfast with wide selection of asian/european food. Super spacious rooms with beautiful view from the balcony. Incredibly friendly staff - special shout to house keeper Ari - he was so nice and so attentive, always asked us how we are doing and shared such a lovely energy, also security working in the parking lot - so attentive and helpful! 3 minutes from the beach, great pool area, very clean and fresh. 10/10

A Tropical Jewel

Langkawi, as known as the jewel of Kedah, is the largest island in an archipelagio of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea. And a gem it certainly is, with lush scenery ranging from rice fields and rainforests to leaning palms on tropical beaches.

Of course, it’s the beaches that draw most visitors. Housing a good number of Langkawi hotels, Patai Cenang has the longest and most developed beach, and good nightlife. Neighbouring Pantai Tengah is more peaceful and a popular choice for families.

Langkawi Airport in the west is closest to Padang Matsirat. Just around the coast is the more secluded Burau Bay. The Telaga Tujuh waterfalls are nearby, and just north of its curving beach is the Langkawi Cable Car which travels into the heart of the rainforest, where the Sky Bridge provides amazing views.

Another sleepy beach is the northern Jalan Datai, home to a crocodile park. To the west Tanjung Rhu has one of the most scenic beaches, with bulbous, offshore islands reminiscent of many an action movie.

On the south of this duty-free island is the capital Kuah, whose most recognisable feature is the large eagle statue overlooking its harbour towards the islands beyond. This town has the largest concentration of apartments, motels and hotels in Langkawi on Booking.com.

One thing I really don’t understand is why there are so many negative reviews. Yes, the hotel is not brand new, but it’s extremely clean, well-kept, and the beds are large, comfortable, and spotless. I genuinely had a great rest here and felt very comfortable during my stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Its location is absolutely stunning — right on the oceanfront, with views of yachts and a peaceful marina. It’s a quiet, serene place, perfect for relaxing and recharging. I had a room with a sea view, and every morning and evening I enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of the ocean and nearby beaches. It was truly magical and one of the highlights of my stay. The breakfast really surprised me — in a good way! There were four different cuisines to choose from: Malaysian, European, Indian, and Chinese, plus a buffet. For a small additional fee (around 45 MYR), you can enjoy a rich, delicious breakfast. I especially loved the meat dishes — the beef sausages and goulash were absolutely delicious. The local pastries were also fresh and tasty. Even though the coffee was from a machine, it was surprisingly good! In the evenings, the hotel offers live entertainment. One night, I even found myself dancing to my favorite songs being performed live — the atmosphere was so joyful and fun. The staff deserves a special mention. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Since I speak Indonesian (which is quite similar to Malay), it was very easy to communicate, and I truly felt at home thanks to their warmth and hospitality. There’s also a fantastic infinity pool where I spent a lot of time, and a great restaurant that stays open late. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful seaside retreat with excellent service, beautiful views, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

A wonderful luxury resort in the middle of the jungle, in contact with pure nature, the villa was very modern, incorporated with wood and natural materials, very comfortable and clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and everyone tried very hard to make my husband and I comfortable and beautiful. The food in the Rimba restaurant and the Pegaga restaurant was superb. The views with sunsets are breathtaking. I would absolutely come back. Monkeys come to greet you. Walking distance to a beautiful sandy beach. Thank you again mr. Ismail the manager of the resort and all the staff who tried to make us feel like we were in a fairy tale.

We had a very large room with an incredible view of the MAHA Tower and the sea/islands! The room was very clean and comfortable, although some of the fixtures and carpet were a bit worn. The bathroom was also big with a good shower and a separate bathtub. The breakfast was fun! There was a huge choice of Chinese, Malaysian, and Indian foods, as well as Western options. The location is convenient for many restaurants and the night market in Kuah, and there are a few duty-free shops and a 7-Eleven very nearby. There's also a cool bar in the hotel with very reasonably priced beers and drinks.

A great central hub and a slice of paradise, which seems...

A great central hub and a slice of paradise, which seems somewhat un discovered by the rest of the world, yet everything you want or need is perfectly catered for. I recommend checking out the local market, with plenty of food stalls, restaurants and seating areas to make an evening of it. Stroll along the Main Street or along the beach to soak up the atmosphere.

Kuah is peaceful and away from main beaches. If you like peace, this is the place but if you are coming with party mood finding something near to Cenang beach. Famous places are Maha Tower and Eagle Square. Most of the famous beaches like Cenang, Tanjung Rhu etc are 25-35 min of drive away from this place though finding cabs is not a big issue if you install Grab app in mobile.

You have the cable cars and surrounding area that takes a day to Explore and the crocodile park which is really good. Water falls and beaches. I would recommend staying at least 3 nights at this end of the island and 3 at the opposite end in kuha. Make sure to do the mangrove tour with a private boat haggle price.

Beautiful beach and mangroves.

Beautiful beach and mangroves. We did hte Mangrove ride and island hopping. Not easy to get around, its remote and on the northern most tip of the island, should have own vehicle. Not many restaurants around the area, only resorts.

Its just a great vacation here.. the staff is so friendly and the place was just too great.. i wish they have a lift so that customer can bring up their stuff easily.. overall very satisfied and if have a chance will come again to this beautiful place..

The beach was clean, and the sea was calm, most of the time. There were lots of creatures both on the beach and in the water. There were also monkeys , birds, bats, colugos and squirrels, making it a great place to observe and learn about nature

Location was perfect for us, not too close to the main...

Location was perfect for us, not too close to the main streets but not difficult to get to at all. Our host was so helpful and the traditional breakfast is a must. Accommodation is excellent and the views are fantastic.

Kuah is just about decent but i would prefer the Cenang...

Kuah is just about decent but i would prefer the Cenang Beach area . If you can't get a hotel there, Kuah should be your next choice. The Island is small so you can get around in under 30 minutes to any spot of the island.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The Thai Restaurant was amazing - getting to the Sky Cab was just walking distance, that's worth a visit. I did a Mangrove Tour which was pretty good... I went on my own but a group tour might have been just as good.

Great beach, not to many people, good to watch the sunset.

Great beach, not to many people, good to watch the sunset. But lots of it is privat and your only allowed to walk along the shore in these parts, which is kinda sad and stupid as you wouldnt disturb anyone by staying there. but the public places are great too so not too much of a let down.
