This boutique hotel is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the perfect hosts who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was cosy and comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Speaking of activities, the hotel offers an incredible range of options to suit every taste. But perhaps the highlight of our stay was the food. We couldn't believe the amazing dishes that were served up to us. Every meal was a culinary adventure, with fresh, local ingredients and creative presentation. It was clear that the chef had a real passion for food. Overall, this boutique hotel is an absolute 10/10. The perfect hosts, cosy accommodation, amazing food and unforgettable activities make it an experience you won't want to miss.

Such high quality of everything at such a remote location. The staff was great, doing an excellent job of running the place. The food was so delicious: the breakfast, the dinner, and also the freshly baked cookies and cakes in the community building. A special treat was watching movies about the history of this remarkable place in the evening, in the comfortable sofas of the bar area. The rooms are clean and simple. I initially worried a bit staying there would become boring, since there is no internet, and it is not possible to leave the hotel on your own (because of the possibility of polar bears). I was wrong: Multiple guided tours could be booked on the spot, visiting different areas of the settlement (or, in summer, even the surroundings, but I was there in October, with snow already covering the landscape). I highly recommend this place, run so professionally by the staff.

It was a spectacular hotel! Very clean, amazing breakfast, very cosy and with a wonderful river view. Hope to stay sometime again. And for the ones who are visiting Geirengar, i suggest to stay in this hotel instead of Geirengar, if you have easy transport.

Dating back to 1640, this 9th generation family-run hotel is Norway’s oldest. The hotel is surrounded by a romantic garden in the idyllic village of Svolvorn.
The hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.
