To eat something good in the morning I highly recommend,they had a good selection of cheese and food. The room was clean and nice bathroom ,the 3rd floor room was good cosy and nice. The ac was perfect and heating also. The furniture was nice and with good style. You could see the northern lights also from the window of the room,since the view was on the back and was less lights . The price paid for room was fair for the offer that they got. The receptionist was very kind and nice and recommended also a good restaurant to eat since we arrived a bit late. All the instructions was nice and good and clear and very easy to use. The accommodation is very tasteful and authentic and the owner is an amazing cook. She cooked us delicious local food, which was beautifully presented. Considering that it was the last destination before our departure, we enjoyed it very much. There is a shop and basic amenities in the village and to our surprise the shop had an excellent cafe with good coffee and a boutique, where locals meet in the morning. The cabbins are spacious and well maintained and provide an amazing view. The food in the restaurant is nice and has lots of variation. At the reception, i think the owner, showed me all the nice places to see, talked about the hikes and the birds around the camping. I even saw puffins thanks to tips on how to spot them. Sortland was a great place to stay for a family of four interested in nature and history in Vesterålen. We had a rental car and drove around to different places every day during a week. Sortland is the main city and the center of life in the Vesteralen archipelago, meaning that it has good shopping possibilities. It is not particularly attractive as a city but a good stopover. Its pecularity is an artistic move to paint buildings in blue, in order to belie its name, meaning 'the Black Land'.
