Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa are a must see, must do. World class! The mountains are beautiful. If you have transport, close by is Ashburton, Lake Coleridge and much more. The information centre in Methven, "I-Hub" is a wealth of information and things to do. Off the beaten track, an alive, looked after, vibrant small town NZ with genuine charm and a smile. Springfield is only an hour from Christchurch yet so close to great scenery for drives and many sporting activities including Mt Hutt Ski Fields plus others. Arthur's Pass is a fabulous drive, Rakaia Gorge is beautiful, the drive to Coleridge Power Station, at the back of Mt Hutt is very scenic. The town of Methven is not far away.
