Great location for exploring Wellington. We booked last-minute due to a cancelled flight and check in couldn't have been easier. We loved all the attention to detail and the comfy bed. Would highly recommend.

The owner greeted us and was super happy, friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was easy to find and super handy to the airport for us. The room was immaculate, super cosy and had everything we needed. There was no noise at all. Being right on the road and that close to the airport we hardly heard anything which was important for us to be able to get a good sleep. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again regardless of whether we are flying or not. Thanks so much for a fantastic stay.

The lady on reception was so helpful. I think her name was Che. She arranged a taxi for the following morning and managed to pack a few goodies for breakfast as we were leaving at 07.45hrs. We were a little stressed on arrival and tired from our long journey. So thanks so very much for everything you did for us.

I had a late arrival in Wellington, however, Tino gave great and detailed instructions by email, also great responses. Hunter also gave a kind reply. I have to say that the desk staff of the Ramada by Wyndham Wellington Taranaki Street throughout my stay were really wonderful, nice, and also efficient, really top class. Thank you! The room was spacious and fully furnished with large fridge, microwave, and washing machine/dryer. I was on the last leg of a long trip, and this was so helpful! (One minor thing is that it might be good to have a simple rack to put things on. Well, that is a very minor point, overall this hotel was great. Also the large desk and chairs were very useful.) Rooms were also very clean and spacious. Taranaki Street is also convenient just a short walk straight down to Te Papa museum and the harbour. Also Moore Wilson's large supermarket nearby. Wellington has many nice restaurants and bars! I especially liked Coco's Bar and Grill near the harbour. Nice atmosphere and great food & drinks. I especially loved the apple spring roll dessert! Wonderful! The Ramada was nice I could move around conveniently.

Used to live in Wgtn. many moons ago.

Used to live in Wgtn. many moons ago. Much has changed traffic-wise. One way system and avoiding the designated bus lanes. Biggest frustration was main intersections without street names. Side streets named but the main artery not regularly named. Google maps ok, but to get to the ferry terminal in the dark, in torrential rain quite challenging. Fortunately I had some idea of where to go but was rusty. Check the map before you leave your accommodation. Car parking scarce, take the local buses to major attractions - Te Papa Museum, Zealandia etc. Take an umbrella for Zealandia, if rain predicted.

    Highlights

Highlights - Riverside and parks — The Hutt River and surrounding green spaces are excellent for easy walks, cycling, and watching the sunset. - Cafés and eateries — A growing café scene with several cosy spots for coffee, brunch, and casual meals. - Convenient transport — Well connected by commuter rail and buses; getting into Wellington CBD is straightforward. - Shopping and services — Queensgate and nearby retail strips make errands simple; plenty of everyday conveniences are close by. - Friendly locals — Generally warm, helpful people who make the place feel welcoming.

Everything within walking distance. However there's NO pedestrian crossings from the motel side of the road! I'm a bit slow with bad hips and I was taking my life into my hands to get across to the mall lol. Great little cafe called "Local Authority" under the council building next to the gym! Fantastic coffee and lovely staff!
