A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic.
A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.Guest review byTiagoPortugal - 10

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Almograve is a beautiful town close to an amazing beach. The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. Sines was quiet when we visited, and I would guess it only gets small numbers of tourists. It has a lovely beach with fishing boats on one side of the bay/harbour and heading South, along the coast is industrial/oil refinery. You don't really see this from the town but I think this is why there are fewer visitors than would otherwise be expected of this town with the castle overlooking the crescent beach. A nice and quiet place, with small nice restaurants. Some bridges with different coloured light cross the Sado river, joining the two halves of the town, and give a touch of magic to the town during the night. This charming seaside village offers an ideal spot to relax and recharge. Although it can get quite crowded in July and August, its peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for a getaway.
