- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 83 reviewsMy girlfriend and I spent 4 nights here. The instruction on how to get to the accommodation was very clear. Nuno is a great host who also gave us secret tips on the island. We also talked to him personally about how the island life really is. The apartment has a functional kitchen with a fridge, washmaschine, gas cooker and the also an air fryer. Somewhere in the neighborhood there is also a cat who also visited us regularly. We gave her the name Hector. The island Flores it’s quite expensive since everything has to be imported. We are glad that we could spend our time here. 4 nights is enough to see the waterfalls and do some hikes. We are quite active but we didn’t manage to see everything. If you have time, we also recommend to see the island Corvo.Guest review byIgorSerbia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 291 reviewsDona Júlia is a very nice host. The house, where our room was, is clean, has a homey feeling and is well equipped. It's at walking distance from the airport and also from the beach (5-10 min walking). There are very few planes per day and they are small, and don't make much noise, so no need to worry about being close to the airport. The roosters singing in the morning at the neighbouring houses are louder, which was so nice. 😁 A real treat.Guest review byTamásIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 177 reviewsThe house is in a great location overlooking the sea and waves. We had the keys ready in the house and met the caretaker in person, who was a pleasure to communicate with. The advantage of the three bedroom house is that it has two bathrooms, which you will appreciate when there are more people. The house has everything you need and a nice common area which you will appreciate in bad weather.Guest review byHanaCzech Republic
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 7 reviewsProbably the best location on Flores. Trails are easily accessible and close to main viewpoints. Views of ocean and waterfalls cant be beat. The house (mill) is very spacious and perfect for a stay where you can feel a little lost in time :-) Hosts were very accommodating with my flight delays which required adjusting booking dates!Guest review byJeffCanada

A magical village with kind helpful people.
A magical village with kind helpful people. The village is like something out of a fairytale, perfect scenery, with beautiful well kept livestock, has such a nostalgic feel. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, we also stayed in Sao Miguel (5 star hotel) but the food here was of a way better standard! Be carful when driving at night, ensure you have an offline map as signal is weak down some winding country lanes- we got quite lost and roads are very steep.Guest review byNailaUnited Kingdom - 10

From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city of Santa Cruz in the east, Flores is a delight. Get your hiking boots ready as there are many beautiful trails to check out on this island, but plan on a few days as the weather can be unpredictable and it would be a pity not to see Flores in full sunshine.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two restaurants open (low season). Weather is unpredictable and not so warm (18°C). Our host Ricardo recommends coming here in September when it’s still warm and the sea is about 25°C. We saw a lot of trekkers everywhere. On Flores you definitely would need a car. Close to the village iate a couple of stunning waterfalls.Guest review byanna wennerbergPortugal - 8.0

I liked that it was near the famous sites and in a quiet area. It is an old house so I found it very cold and it also had a musky smell. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to stay warm. The shower was plenty hot and there were long soft towels to dry off. I had problems with the lock box not working easily. I was disappointed that there were no stores or a bakery as it’s a very small village. Buy what you need in Santa Cruz. The island is gorgeous and this side has so many waterfalls to enjoy.Guest review byNancyUnited States - 10
Absolutely stunning island.
Absolutely stunning island. The natural beauty left me in awe many times. I hope this natural landscape is protected. The whale museum was very educational and worth the visit. Although I think they should charge more than one Euro for entrance. It was easy to get around with our small rental car.Guest review byCocogirl99Canada - 10
It is really a paradise.
It is really a paradise. On one hand I want to share my joy from getting to see it, on the other it needs to stay pure and forgotten by the masses. When flying there, our plane had to turn back because of a technical issue, as if I was asked if I really mean it. If you love and respect nature, go for it!Guest review byAndrejUnited Kingdom - 10

Island is just amazing, lots of scenic views and full of waterfalls. People in Flores are the kindest I've met in my travels and food's quality is what you would expect from a typical Portuguese village.Guest review byTP9Portugal - 10
Very cool, old town.
Very cool, old town. Feels like you've stepped back in time a couple centuries. A couple local restaurants that have awesome food, with less than awesome service, when they happen to be open. Don't trust online hours, they're often incorrect. Reservations are a must as everything in town books up quickly and has incredibly limited availability. Come for the breath taking beauty, not anything else. From our experience, definitely the best place to stay on Flores island for access to the highlights of the island.Guest review byDevonCanada - 10

I believe Flores is the most beautiful island among the Azores. Santa Cruz is the location of the airport, small town but charming and clean. People usually visit Flores for the nature, but Santa Cruz is a good place to stay.Guest review byAndrásHungary
