This is my first stay overnite in Oldtown after many times visiting Phuket. Targeted the hotel for long times with the main reasons of the name of hotel (= my nickname... 安安 in Hakka slang read as On On)... and definitely the heritage decorations.... Leonardo deCaprio has stayed in the hotel is another plus (but not in the room I stayed 🤣). Rite in the middle of the Old Town of Phuket, if you go the 3 directions from the main door of the hotel all filled in with the old building functioned as shop houses, resto, cafe, etc. The hotel lobby itself filled with many antiques as the decoration (one of my gen z friend amazed with the radio put there as he doesn't know what that is), rooms are spacious with aircon run well in this hot islands. Don't expect lift or elevator as this is only 2 storey building, if you are lazy to bring your suitcase upstairs ask for ground floor room... Access key is given for staying guests considering the hotel lobby is very popular with passerby tourists taking picture. Outside the building once in a while used for film or advert making and professional photographers. A worth to visit and stay place in Old Town

Everything. 2 bedroom suite with ocean view for my self and teenage son was perfect. My mum had a doubble bed room on same level and it was just as lovely. Air-conditioning was brilliant and we enjoyed walking back into our lovely cool rooms each afternoon. Would like to give a Special thanks to Hotel staff for going above and beyond when we asked for help over 5 hours after we had checked out. 🙏thankyou so much. The vibe was always relaxed and staff provided balance of politeness, privacy and helpulness

Idyllic Island of International Fame

Thailand’s largest island, Phuket has a mountainous landscape leading down to lush, green palms, warm, turquoise seas and soft, golden sands. Patong is its most developed resort and is well known for outrageous nightlife. There are lots of clubs, bars and restaurants in the main town and it also has a fantastic beach lined with hotels and resorts.

To the south is Karon, home to the 2nd largest beach and offshore coral reefs that are good for snorkelling. Quieter Kamala also has coral reefs and good surfing conditions, as do the curved beaches at Kata.

The island’s airport is in the north and there are lots of Phuket hotels near the airport in Mai Khao and Nai Yang, where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. In Bangtao to the south there is a great range of Phuket hotels with private pools on Booking.com, while around the corner in exclusive Surin there are often typical Thai long boats bobbing up and down in the rolling waves.

On the other side of the island Chalong has an impressive Buddhist temple and is a popular spot for kitesurfing. Neighbouring Panwa has shallow water coral and the Phuket Aquarium to explore. The Phi Phi islands are off Phuket’s eastern shores and their idyllic scenery makes wonderful day trips.

Central Patong Beach is very busy and congested, personally...

Central Patong Beach is very busy and congested, personally not my recommendation, however it is much more quiet at either end away from the central area. I would more recommend Kata (although it is wall to wall sunbeds - unbelievable really) and Karon Beach and highly recommend Kamala Beach.

The hotel is in a great location on top of the old town and...

The hotel is in a great location on top of the old town and seconds from great shops, coffee bars and a vast range of venues. It is an excellent value place to stay if you want to be in the centre. The old town is great for the Sunday walking street and has everything to offer. A selection of different music artists, brilliant choice of street food and lots to spend your money on. Thoroughly recommend.

Kata was nicer than Patong - less night life, We didnt enjoy the beaches the amount of rubbish in the sand and water is very sad- not just Kata we found the all the Phuket beaches the same, very sad or maybe we are very lucky in NZ to have beautiful rubbish free beaches

Karon Beach is very crowded and not as clean as you might expect for a tropical paradise. There are a lot of people, and many vendors approach you offering jewelry, massages, and other services. If you enjoy being in a lively, busy atmosphere with lots of people around, it’s fine. But if you prefer calm, quiet water and space to relax without crowds, this is not the best beach for that. Overall, it’s okay but very crowded, and the experience depends on what you’re looking for.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink close to the beach, parking is ample and the sunset is awesome! Two 7/11's provide your chilled wines, beers and spirits. Horse ridding along the beach is worth a go!

Kamala Beach is absolutely beautiful with stunning views! It can get a bit busy, so I recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. Also, make sure to stay hydrated because it gets very hot during the day. Overall, a great beach experience!

Room for improvement to be clean and well organised to manage shops, restaurants, and massages to welcome tourists from around the world. Now is dirty not only because of trash from the waves but also on the beach with all shops - does not clean their own area. Recommend Bangtao Beach from the middle up towards the north to Layan Beach.
