We were so touched by their kindness and hospitality. I miss this home stay so much already! It’s probably best if you have a car to get here and enjoy some of the sights around the area. However, the host was able to arrange us to have a driver in a shared van. She arranged dinners and transportation both evenings! Everyone was so generous and kind. ❤️ The host offered us tea at every chance she got. She shared her Tsou culture and language. Her neighbours all have tea or coffee for sale. Make sure to ask about it! The host also gave us frank advice about the various attractions nearby. I think we would have done better to listen to her. This was the best sleep I got on the trip. That is a very firm bed. No AC, just a fresh breeze. I slept a solid 11 hrs and fully recovered from jet lag. Absolute highlight of our trip to Taiwan. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The vancinity around Shizhao has become my favorite part of Taiwan. Strategically its a great pivot points between Alishan and Fengqihu (separate day trips), and personally, Shizhao has became the better experience within its own right. Our host Mr. Xue drove us to see fireflies nearby at night. He also drove us to nearby attractions to make the most of our day. He was also so kind to explain tea harvesting and brewing process while we enjoyed the tea he brewed. Our room was huge, equipped with its own tea set. Waking up and starting each day amongst a tea field is a real treat and the aroma of tea permeates though the town. There are great looped trails nearby transecting through multiple tea farms and bamboo forests, look for the Shizhao trail systems, some of my favorite includes the mist, cloud, and sunset trail.

Offering a restaurant, Yeashow Villa is located in Chiayi. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all areas. Ali Mountain is 30 km away.

This home stay was so beautiful and located in a perfect location. Beautiful Mountain View and will definitely be staying here again. I originally booked for a one night stay and ended up staying for 3 nights . My best place in Taiwan so far. Thank you! ☺️

This place is magical ! The place is very well tended for, everything was clean and comfortable. The homestay is located in the middle of tea fields, slightly outside Shizhao. it is perfectly located to go both to Fenqihu and Alishan, and the area itself features wonderful hiking trails in the tea fields and bamboo forests. A short 10 minutes walk is enough to go down to Shizhao where you will find several restaurants, convenience stores and the main bus stop (although one bus stop is just 1 minute away from the homestay but only some buses stop there). The breakfast, served as a buffet of local food, was very good and varies slightly from one day to the next, which was very nice. The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Note that there is no AC in the rooms but this is absolutely not required as we are in the mountains here and the weather is cooler. We were there in full summer and had a very nice 20 degrees-ish at the homestay. The fan in the room is therefore more than enough. But the most beautiful thing here is the family running the homestay. Those are people with both hands on their heart, always willing to help and do whatever to make your stay unforgettable. We've had such a great stay with good conversations around a top quality tea, exchanges about what to do in the area, and relaxed talks with other guests. We already plan to go back for a few days during our next visit to Taiwan !
