Good variety of restaurants. Changing daily themes for the resort as relates to food, cocktail specials, etc. Room amenities were good. Very comfortable bed, slept very well. All the staff throughout the hotel were friendly & pleasant to deal with. Lastly & most important, Khalid the hotel manager was superb throughout my stay, passionate about his job & cares about all the guests.

I absolutely loved my stay here! From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed and well cared for. The staff are genuinely kind, helpful, and always ready with a smile. Amazing hotel in a wild, untouched setting. There’s nothing around except the beach — but what a beach! At first, I thought the restaurant prices were high, but I later realized that good-quality dining is simply expensive considering this zanzibar (25 usd).The food was excellent and the breakfast, which is included, was varied and delicious. The only downside was the spa, which I found far too expensive and not really justified. Offering complimentary paddleboards or canoes would be a great addition — and please, definitely no jet skis. To move around after your stay, keep in mind that the hotel is a little slice of paradise, and in the end the value for money is excellent. Yes, it’s a budget, but considering the overall experience and being right on the water, it is worth.

The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and often anticipated our needs before we even asked. The food was delicious, our villa modern, spacious and spotlessly clean, and the overall service top-notch. One of the highlights was the Swahili night, featuring fantastic local dishes and an unforgettable acrobat performance. We also treated ourselves to a relaxing massage during our stay— just what we needed after our safari adventures. Although not beachfront, the resort is just a short walk through Jambiani village to the sea, or you can take a shuttle to one of their partner beachfront properties, which are equally well-designed and welcoming. That said, we actually preferred the peaceful charm of the Oasis itself. We’d come back in a heartbeat—and in fact, we’re already planning our return in 2026!

The Residence was AMAAZZZING. From the rooms that each have a private pool to the staff who were EXTRA friendly. We enjoyed riding the bikes around the property. The food was good and Runi served us tasty cocktails at the beach bar. We visited for my Fiancé’s birthday and on his birthday they decorated the bed and gave us a complimentary cake with a sparkler and all. Shout out to Emmanuel and Yunsi* for the decorations. We also visited the spa and had a relaxing massage and they were able to accommodate us last minute. We also enjoyed riding the jet skis on the water. In the afternoons, they offer complimentary ice cream which was something we looked forward to daily. We also had some issues with our flight and the guys at the reception were gracious enough to lend us their phone to try and sort things out. Honestly this resort is worth every penny and we can’t wait to get back.

The property is sprawling with a gorgeous beach and plenty of lush gardens. We booked a junior suite which was really spacious with the most enormous comfortable bed. We had a few issues but they were quickly resolved and we had amazing meals at the a la carte restaurants. I have to mention ‘Wok’ which was faultless and I would go back just to dine there. We also had a romantic beach dinner which was lovely. The water-sports centre is well equipped and we learnt to paddle board, we played lots of pool and we also played tennis every day. The court does need resurfacing but it is fine for a knock about. We would definitely go back there.

Zuri is Majestic! The location is the best. The smiles on the hard working staff is what impressed me most! I am fond of flora I Could identify many unique trees and spices! They even have senna leaves😂!! The manager came to greet our family and we expressed her our high appreciation!! Ps they have oatmeal for breakfast which I really liked!! Very worthy hotel!!

There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi.

There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi. If you book any excursions, be prepared to pay double what you book for as they add on conservancy and entry fees on top. The beaches are not the crystal clear blue that you think. The beaches are highly affected by the tides. When it is low tide the beach is covered with seaweed and the water is too far out for you to swim. You only get to swim for a few hours a day when it is in high tide. If I were booking to come back to Zanzibar, go to Paje!!

Kiwengwa is an amazing place , only annoying this is the amount of African people that hassle you on the beach - men dressed as masi that are not from the the masi Maru tribe ( pretending they are ) and annoying you when you trying to enjoy a peaceful walk it is over bearing and no one wants that on their holiday - was most beaches in Zanzibar !!

Matemwe is a perfect destination for anyone who wants peace and quiet, but still has access to great activities. You can easily arrange dolphin watching and swimming tours – look for Captain Lucho, he helped us with everything and made the experience amazing. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay!

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people. It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.
