This place is a hidden gem and we’re so glad we found it. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a 2 bedroom one bathroom cottage and it had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, and the cottage had plenty of room for our family of 4. The beds were so comfortable and I had a good night sleep every night as did everyone else. Office staff were so kind and helpful. The whole experience with our stay was perfect from the second we arrived to our check out. We loved the property amenities and location. My kids especially loved the complimentary snacks in the office. Staying there we were minutes to downtown pacific grove, cannery row, 17 mile drive, Carmel, and right across the street from a wonderful mellow beach. We couldn’t have asked for more and would not hesitate to recommended this place to anyone. We can’t wait to return.

We spent 3 nights here and it was very positive. Staff moved us to another room when I complained about crying baby and toddler in room above. Upgraded to a suite. Great hot breakfast with staff available to help out-dont forget to tip them. Staff from Monterey Fire Dept staying on site in case of local flood. Also was able to.walk to many restaurant options... nearby Thai restaurant great!

There was blood on the front door, the room was not clean.

There was blood on the front door, the room was not clean. The mirror was broken and the window was missing the screens. I brought two cars and the person at the front desk said I needed to park one of my cars at the business next door and said don’t worry about their private parking signs in the business next door parking lot. It was so gross in the bathroom, there was black hair all over the shower and bathroom floor and the bed blankets smelled so bad you can tell they have not been washed in months. I will never recommend that place to anyone. And I was over charged- I paid 400$/ night and the next day when I left their website said 78$ per night. It was embarrassing.

A lovely town full of bars/restaurants boutique shops and galleries. Very walkable if you happen to be young and fit. We really liked Hog’s Breath Inn either for dinner (which was delicious and faultless) or afternoon drinks at the bar and the service was fabulous.

Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey.

Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey. With CSUMB right there, there are a number of stores and restaurants typical of a college town. Monterey is just a short drive away but Marina is quiet without the hustle and crowds. Daddy's City Diner is a great place to start your day with a hearty breakfast! Stop by Baker's Bacon for some fresh, tasty bacon, sausage and cheese. Take some candied bacon with you for a wonderful snack.

The Steinbeck Center is a must.

The Steinbeck Center is a must. I had breakfast at a local coffee shop on Main street, a few blocks away from the Steinbeck center. I can't remember the name, but the food was good and affordable. The staff was great. Seems like a draw for the locals.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel. Outside and property was well maintained, clean and landscaped. Room was well appointed and for the most part really clean. I very much appreciate a laminate floor vs. carpet that you know is never clean. Had a a nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine. Area has grocery stores and restaurants in the area that you can walk to. (Just avoid the Mexican place across the street, unless you want some stomach upset! Trust me you'll thank me!) Again, was everything you needed and will book again for my Concours stay next year! Thank you!

Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot.

Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot. A highlight for us was the hike around Lobos Point where the wildlife is abundant and the scenery breathtaking. Eating out was pricey but we stayed at Big Sur campground and cabins where we able to cater for ourselves. During April the roads were reasonably quiet, making the drive along the coast super easy.

Carmel Valley is a little gem.

Carmel Valley is a little gem. Most people visiting Northern CA only get as far as Napa or Santa Cruz but they're really missing out. The wineries and restaurants in Carmel Valley rival Napa. Point Lobos on the way to Big Sur is a spectacular park hugging the cliffs. Nepenthe in Big Sur is not only historic but has a fantastic view of the coast. And of course there is Esalen in Big Sur. Make the effort and visit.

So much wildlife, we loved it.

So much wildlife, we loved it. The sea lions were hilarious, all piled on docks at the harbor, and it seemed like a real working town, not a fake touristy spot. And do visit the Shakespeare Society of America in Moss Landing. What a hoot! Can't really explain it but see for yourself. We ate at Sea Harvest and the Thai restaurant near the inn, both adequate and inexpensive. I was stoked to visit Pezzini Farms and I will be ordering heritage artichokes from them this spring. Whale Watch Point right across from the harbor was fun just to chill and stare at the sea lions and so many pelicans.
