I know you all probably have read if not, almost all of the reviews but if i can say one thing, you all should behave and understand your actions in the hotel. If you make your room a mess, untidy as in bring in your dirty shoes, unclean garments resulting from your trips, they will indeed charge you for it. There are only few of them managing the hotel and everything is from organic sources so imagine their frustration when you all damage/spill the room with your dirty stuffs. The staff was all very friendly, the guest relations, KC made us feel like home and organised all the day trips for us. The staff at pool bar were also amazing specially Dang Viet who we asked to take a picture of us and he went the extra mile and showed us poses for the pictures and took amazing pictures of us, thanks to him we have lovely memories from our holiday. You will have a nice view of the villages and the rice fields down there. The room was nice and clean, the restaurant and free breakfast was fantastic it has a lot of varieties and options must of all they care for Muslims and halal food. The staff were so nice and helpful with checking in and out they even advised us to leave the baggage in the lobby and they give you an umbrella everytime you go outside. An amazing, authentic experience that has given us so many great memories. Highly recommend! Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Mountainous area famous for plum.
Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. I only stayed Saturday night for the Sunday market but wish I’d stayed Friday night too to see the buffalo market on Saturday morning. Get up early (~6am) and go to the market while it’s bustling with locals rather than waiting until the tourist buses arrive (from ~9am).
