We loved the Umhlanga Arch precinct itself, everything is modern and vibrant. The beachfront promenade, Umhlanga Lighthouse, and Gateway Theatre of Shopping were definite highlights for us. Most attractions are within a few minutes’ drive. There’s secure parking at the apartment, Uber made it convenient to get anywhere.Guest review byKaraboSouth Africa - 10.0

Amanzimtoti is a gem on the KwaZulu-Natal coast—perfect for anyone looking to unwind while still having access to plenty of things to do. The beaches are absolutely beautiful: clean, family-friendly, and great for swimming or just relaxing. Watching the sunrise over the ocean is a must! There’s a good mix of restaurants, local shops, and malls nearby, making it easy to find what you need without traveling far. The area feels safe and has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. It’s also a convenient base for exploring Durban and surrounding areas, while still enjoying a quieter, more relaxed setting. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or solo, Amanzimtoti has something to offer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful seaside break with a local touch.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

Kingsburgh looks like it needs more security at the beach car guards are and hobos are sleeping on the pavement, loud music coming from cars at night in the car park until 1h00 in the morning.Water shortages so people are using the beach taps to full their containers by the truck loads to take home.Guest review byPenniSouth Africa - 10.0

A fantastic beachfront area, it feels perfectly safe moving around along the promenade, police and cleaners always visible. Daytime. Great beaches, you can enjoy the sun and the sea all year round. Ushaka aquarium and dolphinarium is world class. Minitown is good to visit for children. Go shopping at Musgrave Centre, still a really great place to shop! The natural history museum (science, with stuffed animals, is amazing and should be visited by all, behind the city hall, free entry), easy to park behind the Royal Hotel there, the football stadium is great, Mitchell Park, and the restaurants around the Florida Road area are well worth a visit. Lets face it, you can't get better food than in South Africa. Enjoy! ParkGuest review byKari HamreNorway - 10.0

I loved the Afsaal flats cleanliness and quietness the entire building was amazingly quiet and clean. The Toti area is just clean and quiet Easily reachable via the N2 highway, with public transport options from Durban in case we didn't have our car. We required medical services as my 5-year-old got sick, the primary Netcare facility in the area was Netcare Kingsway Hospital. This private hospital offered a comprehensive range of healthcare services and is conveniently located we couldn't struggle to get its location. My favorite place was Toti Main Beach, ideal for swimming, and fishing. The Water Park, my kids loved the water land, and the warm Indian Ocean makes it pleasant even during this season. Shopping malls close by. I dd not like my shopping experience at Checkers Galleria mall though it was packed on the 26th we stayed on the que for 1,5hours. I also did not like how the water was so dirty at the Toti main beach all the rubbish inside the water.Guest review byLeeSouth Africa - 4.0

HI I never stayed there we contacted the person in charge because we weren't happy to stay there as nobody was there to greet us and the cleaning lady wasn't very friendly and nobody else was on the property. We have requested to be reimbursed and was told it would be done a week after the reservation was done.Guest review byVenter - 8.0

We always enjoy the beautiful sea when visiting Durban, along with the wide variety of activities along the beachfront, such as the dolphin and seal shows. A visit to uShaka Marine World is always a highlight. Exploring the Ballito and Umhlanga areas is equally pleasant, offering charming sights and relaxing experiences. Gateway Mall is more than just a shopping destination; we especially enjoyed the go-karting there. One of the most memorable attractions was Crocodile Creek, home to over 500 crocodiles. Overall, Durban’s stunning landscapes and vibrant activities make every visit truly special.Guest review byNashiebaSouth Africa - 10.0

Amanzimtoti are such a great holiday location, just 20 min out of durban connecting with the south coast. my Favrourite town and mall - and i dont like malls, i love nature... Galleria has an Ice Skating ring, Ferris wheel and even a mini train for little ones. with Ample restaurants and off course a seaview from Ocean Basket. This town has safe night bars, family orientated restaurants on the beach and in Doonside, from the rugby club where you can buy 1 get 1 local pizza on a wednesday night to where kiddies run on the fields and a sunday where you bring your meat to a greet and pay R35 for salads and buy drinks, my favourite new restaurant are the monkey bar with the most amazing view of toti where you have the BEST EVER hamburgers. Then off course there are SPLASH AND THIRSTY WHALES That make Amanzimtoti Beach very special - amazing entertainment for the family. Many little local restaurants and shops to support or just come on vacation to beach road to 1 of so many holiday flats or book holiday homes on airbnb and drive to 1 of 4 beaches within 5 minutes. Should you want to Experience the Wild Coast sun - we are just 2 hours away... home before you know it at very affordable rates for accommodation!!Guest review byMinetteSouth Africa - 6.0
The view was good.
The view was good. There’s no air cons and fan in one room didn’t work. Was very uncomfortable in the extreme high temp. When I asked for it to be sorted, was told the electrician was not available. Freezer trays not opening. No cleaning service during stay although a fee was charged.Guest review bypoomaniSouth Africa
