Great place with beautiful views, nice and cozy house, great hosts and comfortable self check-in. We were there in winter and there were huge winds but it was still warm inside. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. Reindeer carpaccio was superb as was the rest we ordered. Breakfast was ample and varied. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. Loved the hot tub!

Everything! From the amazing views to the exceptionally delicious breakfast - we were very happy with our stay. We were even able to view the northern lights. The location was very peaceful yet convenient on our travels. Unfortunately, we didn't get to take advantage of the hot tub.

I simply loved this place! It's a piece of heaven in very quiet surroundings. I felt very much at home plus I was the only guest that night, so I had everything to myself. I was fortunate to see the volcano eruption from the window, while looking for the Northern Lights. Bed was super comfortable and the shower was very nice.

Skálatjörn Guesthouse exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The guesthouse is set in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by stunning views – on a clear day, you can even spot glaciers on the horizon. It is the perfect base to explore South Iceland. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We especially appreciated the small details: everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. What truly stands out is the hospitality. The hosts are incredibly kind, attentive, and always happy to share advice or local insights. A very special highlight were the rare Icelandic goats that live on the property – gentle, curious animals that guests can visit daily. They are very friendly and love to be petted, which made our stay feel even more unique and memorable. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.
