This is a gem of a hotel in a perfect location about 10 minutes walk to the centre. The hotel itself is lovely, spacious rooms, relaxing pool and hammock area, beautiful dining area with a kitchen you can use any time to make a drink or use dishes etc. The breakfasts are delicious - wonderful granola, yogurt and lots of fruit, and a small cooked breakfast too - different every day! But it's the staff that really stand out! They are exceptional! They arranged a private driver and guide to take us to Uxmal one day. Unfortunately my husband had a lot of pain with his Achilles tendon. They arranged for a physiotherapist to come to the hotel and treat him, twice, while we were there! Talk about service! We highly recommend this hotel and would return in a heartbeat if we go to Merida again!

The location is perfect, the room we had was huge, and the bed was enormous and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the shower worked great. The breakfast was wonderful and fresh. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This was our favourite place we have stayed in Mexico. Great location. Room was super spacious, and had a desk which was a nice touch. The beds were really comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well. Shower water pressure was excellent, great hot water. We also got new bottles of water every day which was much appreciated. WiFi really good.

Hotel María José is located 700 metres from Merida Cathedral and main square. It offers an outdoor pool thats only is available for 3 room and free Wi-Fi.

Location is great close to the Merida English Library and numerous restaurants including one of our favourites Carboni only half a block away.Staff at this hotel are super friendly and accommadating .Pool area is smallish but sufficient for an in city hotel.
