砂漠エリア、シワオアシスならではのカーシェフ(kershef)で建てられたとてもユニークなホテル。 カーシェフ(kershef)とは簡単にいうと日干し煉瓦（こちらの場合は近くにある湖の塩の塊、岩、粘土を固めた加工素材）で、その素材で建てられたホテルなんです。このエリアの昔ながらの建築技術で作られたなかなか体験できないホテルでとても興味深かったでした。日本で言うと昔ながらといえば木造建築ですからね。 もちろん内装の一部は現代にも通じるようにホットシャワー、水洗トイレ、電気などは完備してありますよ。とても快適に過ごせました。 また、砂漠気候であるこのエリアの日中は太陽に照らされた外はとても暑いのですが、日陰になるホテル内は程よい涼しさが保たれ快適でした。 で、具体的なホテル内容としてはフレンドリーなスタッフ、色々と融通が利くスタッフ、中心街から徒歩圏内、掃除が行き届いているホテル内、おいしいエジプト朝食、リーズナブルな宿泊価格、見晴らしの良い景色（Fortress of Shaliのすぐ近く）、ツアーデスクなどととても充実しています。なお私が宿泊した時はフランス人夫婦、中国人の若者などが宿泊されていました。 おすすめの「Nanshal Siwa」でした。
