A Truly Special Traditional Ryokan Experience at Fuji Onsenji Yumedono We stayed at Fuji Onsenji Yumedono, a beautiful traditional Japanese ryokan located near Lake Kawaguchiko, and it was a truly special experience. We booked two rooms — one was a newer, modern villa-style suite in a separate area, which was absolutely lovely. The other room, for three adults, was located in the main building and was more traditional and a bit older in style. Each room includes a private onsen, which was a real highlight. Soaking in the hot spring bath after a long day of exploring was incredibly relaxing and luxurious. The main building has a cozy lounge with complimentary hot and cold drinks, available throughout the day — a very nice touch. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, offering some of the best service we encountered in Japan. Breakfast was served in a traditional Japanese-style dining room. Since we don’t eat fish, the staff kindly arranged a Western-style breakfast for us the next morning without any issue. Overall, this was a unique and memorable experience, blending warm hospitality, traditional charm, and modern comfort. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful and authentic stay near Mount Fuji.

Renovated in September 2018, Guesthouseほのぼの offers an accommodation with free WiFi in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.3 km from Lake Kawaguchi. Hostal ameno, el anfitrión excelente persona, me permitió guardar mi bolso antes del check-in mientras recorría el pueblo, además tenía conocimiento del español, sitio tranquilo, a 20 minutos en transporte desde la estación central de kawaguchico.

It was great to ride across the lake (the rental is cheaper than near the lake beach). Friendly and helpful owners! Best hostel ever)

We stayed for two nights 4 people altogether. The host/owner is super friendly and very helpful. As some reviews already mentioned the will pick you up from the train station if you tell them when you'll arrive and even go to the supermarket on the way to the house. The location is perfect, you can see Mt. Fuji from your bed in the morning. Lake is juts a few minutes on foot and you have 7-Eleven etc. also quite close as well as a bakery. The house is quite spacious (we stayed in the three bedroom part) and has a very comfy feel to it. Unfortunately we couldn't really use the terrace because of the weather but I can imagine how you can spend an amazing time there. Highly recommended.
