The staff were exceptionally kind, generous, helpful, pleasant, welcoming, and fundamentally awesome. They made my stay feel truly special. The facilities are all wonderful... it is such a magical place! The interior courtyard garden is peaceful and lovely. The outdoor onsen is a gem... and not too hot, so one can actually enjoy it for a nice long time. And the food is just delicious, inventive, beautiful, and totally satisfying. I stayed one night, then spent a night away at Mt. Haguro, then returned for a second night's stay at Tachibanaya and felt as though I was coming home!

Only a 5-minute walk from JR Yamagata Station’s West exit, Richmond Hotel Yamagata Ekimae features comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi, drinks vending machines and massage treatments. It offers a 24-hour front desk and free-use internet PCs. Laptop PC rentals are available. The proximity was great and the room very comfortable. Most hotels have smaller rooms but we felt the space was bigger to fit luggage and not feel so cramped.

Winter closure of the open-air baths "Shirakaba-no-yu" (Late December - 28 February)

Due to the accumulation of snow, the open-air bath will be closed during the winter. Until it reopens, you will only be able to use the indoor baths. Please note that the outdoor baths, indoor baths and footbaths of "Hanareyu Hyakuhappo" are open for use as usual. The room is so big and clean! The breakfast and dinner are awesome, so I ate a lot 😁 It's nearby The Towering Snow Monsters, but a little bit far from the onsen street.

We enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast and the massage chairs were a pleasant surprise.
