The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s young cricketers. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We loved the customer service, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

We spent a week in the charming mansion Camellia, centrally and quietly located, a few minutes walk away from the beach and center. The building is a little hidden from the street and is surrounded by a blooming garden. The room with all amenities was spacious and quiet. Our host Paddy spoiled us with a delicious and varied breakfast, he showed us the eating habits of the country with the respective national dishes. His humor and knowledge of the country and its people was unique, he helped his guests and also us with reservations, excursions and transfers. We highly recommend this property and will book this accommodation again on our visit.

Located just 20 metres from Unawatuna Beach, it features a restaurant and 24-hour front desk. The property is located 1minute walk from the beach. It is beautifully clean and staff is helpful and friendly. Beds are comfortable. Airconditioned room. Breakfast was generous and scrumptious. We had a lovely stay!

Shower gel, shampoo & conditioner were provided, which was a pleasant surprise. A kettle and jug of water was provided. Water is refillable at a cost of LKR 200. They have a menu for food, drinks and activities, although we didn't try any of them as the prices were quite steep. We rose early so the noise from the school children didn't really affect us.
