Our stay at The Buena Vista Kandy was truly unforgettable. One of the highlights was the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine—without a doubt, the best we’ve had anywhere. The in-house chef, Appu, has an incredible gift for understanding the taste preferences of each guest. Every meal felt personalized and prepared with heart. The hotel itself is perched on a hillside with an exceptional 180-degree view of Kandy, including the Temple of the Tooth and the Kandy Lake. We loved sipping fresh fruit juice in the serene garden while watching the bustling city below from this calm, peaceful retreat. Adding to the charm is the house itself—an architectural beauty designed by Geoffrey Bawa, blending old-world elegance with thoughtful detail. The decor, especially the original Picasso plates, gave the space a unique and artistic vibe. If you're looking for a place that combines breathtaking scenery, world-class local food, and cultural charm, The Buena Vista Kandy is simply outstanding. We can’t wait to return.

The location is perfect, offering tranquility while remaining conveniently close to Kandy's city center, with stunning views of Kandy Lake from the property. Our room exceeded all expectations - impeccably maintained, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and wonderfully cozy. The air conditioning was a welcome comfort in the Sri Lankan climate. The staff truly made our stay special with their warm smiles and attentive service. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, featuring delicious freshly-prepared dishes. We particularly appreciated how thoughtful they were during our two-day stay - they even varied the menu on the second day, replacing hoppers with different flatbreads to ensure variety. I highly recommend 36 Bed & Breakfast to any traveler seeking a peaceful and delightful stay in Kandy, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Green View Holiday Resort has a variety of rooms, each with its own private bathroom. Free WiFi is available in the resort’s common areas. Facilities include an outdoor pool and restaurant. Green View Holiday Resort is a really beautiful place set amongst lush vegetation. It is a very relaxing place. The facilities are excellent. The owner, Anura and his family have created a fabulous place to relax and to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The large pool is a delightful place to chillax after a day sight seeing. The rooms are large and well equipped. The bathroom is also a good size with toilet, shower, and hand basin. Breakfast is provided. I would recommend Green View to anyone visiting Kandy. It is a little difficult to get a tuk tuk from kandy to Green View, but the local bus runs every 10 - 15 minutes, and the fare is approximately LKR90. Green View gets a 10/10 from me.

Located amidst rolling green hills and the Madulkelle Tea Estate, this property offers tents with a terrace, a seating area, and en suite bathroom with hot/cold water. The whole stay was fantastic from the staff, to the food, to the accommodation everything was high quality.

I had a fantastic stay at this lovely house in the hills just outside Kandy. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, with stunning views over a forest valley — the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The house itself is modern, beautifully renovated, and very comfortable. But what really stood out was the warmth of the couple who own it. From the first moment, they made me feel truly at home — more like a guest in their home than a customer. In the morning they prepared a delicious homemade Sri Lankan breakfast. One of the highlights was the coconut rotti — absolutely incredible — along with fresh fruit and other traditional dishes. You could really taste the care they put into everything. They also went out of their way to help me when the airline delayed my baggage. They followed up and made sure it arrived safely at the house, which I really appreciated. If you’re visiting Kandy and looking for a quiet, authentic place with genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend this stay enough.
