Definitely recommend this as a must place to visit. There was so much history and the historic buildings. Just wow factor the staff at the hotel also made the stay so memorable. The in-house Bergrosa Restaurant uses fresh, local produce in its traditional Norwegian dishes. After dinner, guests can enjoy a drink in the lobby bar. We found it very hard to find any fault with this hotel. It is positioned on a hill overlooking the main town and mining area of Roros, a short 5min walk down the road (or alternatively, there is a trail). Our room and bathroom were large and fully functional, the buffet breakfast was one of the best we've had in Norway, and the added bonus was a basement gym (with both machines and a small weight room), along with a 1-washing machine laundry area. We only had one night here, but could easily have stayed for several. If you are bringing mountain bikes with you, there are some awesome trails in the area! The really cool thing about this hotel is that it isn't used by tour groups, meaning you don't have mass groups filling up the breakfast restaurant.
