Older hotels can often be a little shabby despite renovations, but this place has both cosy, old world charm while achieving standards for cleanliness, upkeep, and comfort equal to the best hotels. Being a short and easy walk to the bus and train station as well as the city center, it was in a perfect location. Staff at the desk were welcoming, helpful, and efficient, and without my asking, helped me carry my luggage up the stairs since there is no elevator. My room was nicely proportioned, quiet, and very cosy. Breakfast was great. There is also a nice little lounge in the reception area with tea and coffee for fika alone or with others. (And for a delicious fika treat, check out Bageri 96° on Stora Torget!) I only wish I could have stayed here more than one night!

We really found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful and most especially Isabella and Helena. They were both wonderful and made our stay even better.

Some have fireplaces or views of the inner courtyard. The hotel has an excellent location in the heart of old town close to the Kalmar castle, the city park. The room was not very spacious but cosy. Bathroom OK with strong stream of the water in the shower. The staff was friendly. I will recommend you to book the parking place if you come with the rented car. The breakfast was good.
