It was a magical experience. We loved everything about Yatsusankan: The room, the atmosphere, the onsen, the staff, the high quality meals. It even started to snow when we were there, making the experience even more beautiful. Our 11 year old didn’t want to leave 😍 We could not be happier about our stay here and would return in a heartbeat.

<Food> Exceptional meals with seasonal and local ingredients. We had been looking forward to the meals as we understood this hotel is a '料理旅館' (literally dining hotel) from its Japanese name. Exceeded our expectations as it's delicious and special (not the typical Kaiseki). <Room> Very spacious family room with our own internal corridor, floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the river. Nice views in the snow!

This place was amazing! You stepped into a quiet, calm sanctuary. Room was very comfortable. The staff was super kind and helpful! A small but very intimate onsen helps you relax. Bed was comfortable. And the traditional japanese breakfast was amazing! I would come back again! And hopefully I shall! ありがとうございます

We had a beautiful room looking out over the river and gardens. Our room had a private toilet and wash basin, with access to the public/shared onsen/bath. The hosts were very amenable and friendly. Highly recommend if you want a traditional experience of Japanese hospitality.
