Private roten buro-bath was exceptional. The room was huge. Self-service coffee bar was nice and food was more than we could eat.

Set near Futamiokitama Shrine and Matsushita Shrine, Oishiya is in Ise and offers free private parking and a restaurant. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space.

We LOVED the personalised service provided in traditional inns - especially by our caretaker and waitron Yasuyo Ohnishi! There can be no better location on the seashore within reach of Ise Temple Complex, located on Futiminoura Beach. They will pick you up and drop you off at the closest station and a  100m walk to the beautiful "wedded rocks (at Futamiokitama Shinto Shrine) is worth it even on a hot day! It was pouring  rain when we arrived early so the driver dropped us off a beautifully restored old traditional mansion set in a tranquil zen garden to wait for reception to open at 3pm. We only realised later it's only 3 houses away from the hotel so easily accessible bonus for Oishiya's guests ! The meals (dinner and breakfast was included) was exceptional and extensive with more than 5 courses, each one beautifully arranged in trays and in stunning pottery, served by the lovely and ever helpful  Yashyu Ohnishi in her immaculate kimono Dinner was attended in the Inn's provided kimono's which really added to the experience of Japanese culture we were looking for in a traditional Inn or Ryokan like this. The private Onsen (hot spring bath) was a great bonus for two shy westerners as was the slightly raised western beds in our beautiful tatami mat room with a view to the ocean and shoji screens (rather than curtains) to manage the light! It was by far the most pleasant and perfect stay in more than 30 years of travel internationally!

the room is spacious and have nice new overlooking the ocean. Amenities are great with coffee beans and grounding machine, teapot and cups for tea, Onsen is good. Breakfast is Japanese style but with good selection and quality. Coffee area at lobby with selections of sweet stuff.

The entire estate was very beautiful, and the owner and the staff were very friendly and hospitable to my family. The location is ok. This place is run by very sweet and old ladies who do not speak English. Things van be chaotic. There is a communal (hinoki) hot tub but very small. What made the stay memorable was meeting people there and a very late night talk. And the breakfast was nice too and I will cherish the small goodbye gifts
