Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. • Onsen : The best I've tried so far (together with Gero). Has a really nice smell (unlike Beppu lol) and the temperature is perfect. There are also many different separate onsen baths which you can have for yourself for 1 hour if you ask. • Food : Overall great, standard Kaiseki meal (served in a dining room where each room is separated by a small movable wooden wall) • Staff : Very helpful and gave me the option to opt out of my room and go for a smaller one (cheaper) since my friend cancelled last moment and I ended up alone. • Location : As you can imagine, a great natural onsen is often in the countryside, you do have a bus that goes from Aso station (Kumamoto) all the way to Hakata station (Fukuoka) which stops by Kurokawa which is helpful. The ryokan's staff also pick you up at the bus stop if you inform them of your arrival time.

On top of your own onsen (in our room), there were very lovely common onsens for women and men separately. The Kaiseki dinner was very good.

Also was very happy to have a toilet in the room and not shared. Very well organized place. Best stay during our trip. Very relaxing and private.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. The stay in the Kurokawa Onsen exceeded our expectations. We spent amazing 18 hours in the onsen. We had specious room with private onsen. We could also use the other onsens in the resort privately. Dinner was served in a private room. The serving, taste, presentation was of the level of Michelin restaurant. The staff pays attention of every detail. Definitely worth recommendation. We loved it!

Hotel Yumeshizuku ligt in Minami Aso in de regio Kumamoto, op 10 km van Naka-dake. Het beschikt over een warmwaterbron en een sauna. Everything was perfection - starting from my arrival, public bathhouse experience, the cozy room, delicious dinner and breakfast and very kind staff members. The view of Mt. Aso from the third floor lookout and the footbath area is impeccable. Also, much special thanks to Mr. Isao Tsugayasu, who was extremely helpful and kind to us throughout the stay! He truly made our experience at Yumeshizuku unforgettable. Thank you so much again for your kindness and hospitality. I look forward to my next stay at Yumeshizuku in the nearest future.

Nanjoen ligt in het centrum van de wijk Kurokawa Onsen en biedt in totaal 8 warmwaterbronnen binnen en buiten. We had a wonderful experience at Nanjoen...the Kaiseki dinner was fantastic, the staff was kind and helpful, location was terrific.

Fumoto Ryokan biedt verschillende binnen- en buitenbaden met warm bronwater en traditionele accommodatie in Japanse stijl met historische charme. I like the female service staffs that good communication in english and help me to setting up the surprise happy birthday party for my daughters.
