The place is really easy to find, just take the 12 exit at Kawaramachi station. It’s only a few minutes by foot, in quiet streets. The hotel is near all the best attractions in town and you can reach them by foot. The staff was very nice and some speak a fluent English. The room was taller than expected, with this lovely mezzanine. During the check in, the staff will give you a few informations and a useful plans of the area. The room was clean and sleeping on a futon was fun. This hotel has a real atmosphere. I highly recommended to stay there.

Such a beautiful place to stay and quite a cultural experience. They gave us a welcome snack which consisted of a cup of tea and a Japanese sweet which I thought was a great touch. We didnt have dinner but the breakfast came with the room and it was exceptional. Not too heavy but all side dishes were well thought out. We took a taxi to go back to Kyoto Station, but 3 staffs stayed with us until the taxi arrived and also sent us off till our taxi was out of their sight.

The staff are really very friendly, helpful and courteous. It's no problem to leave your luggage in a separate room if you arrive at the hotel early. You can choose between a Japanese and a Western breakfast. We opted for the Japanese breakfast every morning and it was really excellent. Especially, Kai made this stay unforgettable for us. On the day we arrived, we came with a large bag from the Pokémon Centre. In the evening, when he explained everything about the hotel to us, he asked us about our favourite Pokémon. For the next day, he organised a little Pokémon scavenger hunt in our room, where we had to find all the Pokémon. The next morning, we even received a reward for finding all the Pokémon. So thank you very much for the unforgettable stay!

Very clean and elegant hotel. The staff were courteous and did an excellent job accommodating our limited language skills. The traditional room was everything I expected. The tatami were new, and the futon was very comfortable.

Okami-san was very kind and caring toward me. She was showing me every traditional manner and usage in the Ryokan. She even suggested me some place to eat. The traditional breakfast was amazing and it was handmade.

Friendly, helpful staff speaking good english. Spotless cleaning, beautifully arranged rooms with everything necessary. Loved the provided yukata, when I went to the onsen it was empty as well. My room was one of the simpler ones, but had a great view of the Nidec tower. I think my pictures don't do it justice...

It was by far the most authentic and best stay in our whole trip across Japan. Tome and her Partner were amazing hosts who made us feel so welcome. The facilities are brilliant, and the futon beds are very comfy. Tea made for us free of charge and she arranged a taxi for us on our departure. If anyone is visiting Kyoto I recommend experiencing this Ryokan for at least 1 night.

Even though the ryokan was just next to the big streets, the area was really calm and there was no noise from the outside, so it's a good place to go when you don't want to be far from shopping areas and museums while still getting to sleep peacefully. Futons were comfortable to sleep on and the owners are really nice :D

This was a lovely place to stay for a traditional ryokan experience, sleeping on tatami mats, drinking green tea and visiting the ryokan. The staff were very friendly and the ryokan was very clean.
