This 3-star ryokan offers free shuttle service and full-day security. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. A well kept traditional inn run by particularly lovely and accommodating hosts. The supplementary breakfast was exceptional, served in an authentic manner and featuring 8 or nine individual dishes made with care.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and wear colorful Japanese Yukata robes. Massages can be requested for an extra cost.

Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. The staff is so helpful and wonderful. The check in procedure was very nice and homey. The facilities are very good as well, especially the outdoor onsen that you can book for a private slot. The room was very spacious. The kaiseki dinner was also amazing! All in all, a very nice ryokan in a good location for seeing the snow monkeys.

Minshuku Miyama provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 3 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 13 km of Ryuoo Ski Park. With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Guests can use the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. Room was spacious and clean, dinner delicious. Onsen was great and staff very helpful and friendly. The location is a bit further off the traffic infrastructure then I realized during the booking but this didn't make our stay in this lovely accommodation and town any less magic.

A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Wonderful ryokan in Shibu Onsen. Hosts are amazing - picked us up from Yudanaka station and dropped us back, same with the monkey park. Made everything so easy for us. Ryokan has indoor and outdoor onsens, the outdoor onsen is private. We used it at night when it was snowing and it was magical. Plenty of eateries close by, although the hours vary for each. Make sure you have cash as many don't accept cards.

The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. I really liked the athmosphere of it. It felt like traditional Japan. We had half board that allowed us to try japanese food beyond what we would dare to order in a restaurant. The staff was exceptional!

Located in the Shibu hot-spring area, Onyado Hishiya Torazo features Japanese-style accommodations. Guests can soak in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and female guests can enjoy wearing colourful Japanese Yukata robes. Yudanaka Train Station is a 10-minute drive away and free Wi-Fi is available in the shared lounge. So so so beautiful!! The building itself was absolutely gorgeous, clearly authentic traditional style, peaceful homely atmosphere. The room was amazing, so spacious, tasteful, bright and cozy. The staff were warm and helpful at all times and we got a great tour of the facilities at check in. Yukatas and a key to the onsens were provided in addition to the beautiful private baths on the property. The food was delicious, as were the tea and snacks in the room. 10/10 I can’t recommend this place high enough!!

Yasuragi Inn’s Japanese-style rooms have tatami (woven-straw) floors, futon beds and a flat-screen TV. Each room is air-conditioned. A fridge, an electric kettle and yukata robes are provided. All guests have access to the on-site hot spring public baths, and they can be reserved for private use. (please inquire at the front desk for more information.) Mr. & Mrs. Kobayashi are v hospitable hosts and made the stay v comfortable.
