Would travel here for the food alone, what a feast! (tip: do a very light lunch prior). These hard working people and their outstanding building and surroundings really need more international visits. So, if you’re in the market for a Adachi museum visit. Please consider this ryokan as your stay. I would recommend a 2 night stay as you can explore the temple grounds and unwind. In other words; It’s been absolutely perfect. どうもありがとう。

Having been to Izumo before and knowing it would not disappoint, I decided to take my family for another vacation in January. We stayed at Nipponia Izumo - Hirata Cotton Road for three nights. It is a former traditional sake brewery house converted into a kominka style hotel. Situated on a quiet historical sake and soy sauce business street, the hotel not only provided a unique home sweet home service but also amazing fine dining experience. Their in-house chef made each meal using local products to create feasts that delighted the senses. I highly recommend this hidden gem of an accommodation if you do visit Izumo.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the food was among the best food we had on our entire japan trip. We traveled with one vegetarian and they were able to make great vegetarian food as well which we really appreciated! The inn was cozy and well managed and we had everything we needed. The location by the river and so close to Matsue Castle was also amazing. We can recommend this inn and Matsue city to everyone interested in seeing a different japan!

Ryokan Koyokan está en Yasugi, a 27 km de Mizuki Shigeru Road, y dispone de jardín, habitaciones hipoalergénicas, wifi gratis y restaurante. What can I say? This Ryokan was even better than how I’d pictured it. It’s hidden in a forest surrounded by nature and peacefulness. I even had a view from my room of the beautiful three story pagoda. The food is excellent and dinner comes in courses and beautifully presented like fine food (I chose the mostly vegetarian option), eaten in the private dining rooms with big windows to see the nature. The hot bath (not a true hot spring) has a schedule in evening and is freely available in the morning. I took a relaxing bath both morning and evening. It was exactly what I needed to get away from the hustle of the cities and recover from work stress. The owners are very kind, with one of them I was able to communicate a bit in English. I walked from the nearest train station there, which took me a bit under 1.5 hours. As I enjoy walking and the countryside is beautiful it wasn’t a problem, but it’s something to be mindful of, as there is no bus and the only other option is a taxi.

Saginoyusou, que está a 24 km de Lago Shinji y a 27 km de Museo Conmemorativo Lafcadio Hearn, ofrece habitaciones en Yasugi. We were so looked after from the moment we arrived to when we departed. We chose to stay here to have our last night in Japan to be in the most extraordinary setting and to have access to the Adachi Museum. The room was stunningly beautiful, comfortable and we loved the private onsen. The amenities provided were great too. All of our meals, dinner and breakfast, were a delight to the taste buds as well as visually pleasing.

El Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su ofrece alojamiento en Matsue, a pocos pasos de Tamatsukuri Onsen, y cuenta con WiFi gratuita en todas las instalaciones. Hay aparcamiento privado gratuito. Fantastic! Little towns like this will often have old-skool ryokans and cheaper alternatives (minshuku, hostels) that aren't nearly as good. This place is the perfect, more reasonably-priced, alternative to the big ol' ryokans. Was expecting a minshuku-looking place but, no, from the very first impression this was a lovely, big, beautiful place with a cool vibe. The staff were very sweet, the bath was small but much nicer than you'd expect for the price and the room was very spacioius indeed. Breakfast was dead good and the older gentelman who played the shamisen and told us tales of the area was lovely. Would 100% stay here again.
