We had the traditional room which was very ample and comfortable. We enjoyed having the possibility to have breakfast (with different great options). Personal speak perfect English and are very helpful in answering our questions

A 2-minute walk from Sendagi Subway Station, Japanese-style hotel Annex Katsutaro Ryokan features rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and free Wi-Fi internet. Everything! The owner is super kind. I arrived before 8am in the morning and I was allowed to leave my luggage and rest in the lobby area, which was very peaceful. I was told that I could check in from noon, which is a lot earlier than the official check-in time of 15:00. When I came back at 12.30pm, the owner has already helped to bring my bags into the room and collected parcels that I ordered from Amazon on my behalf. On the last day, after check-out, it was raining heavily and I didn’t have an umbrella, so the owner gave me an umbrella! Thank you so much for everything :) The room is spacious and well maintained, and there’s a nice scent of the tatami mat. There is tea and coffee provided, and a bunch of amenities. It is truly an excellent deal for the price! And the location, Yanaka! Really peaceful and quiet town, but well connected through the Yamanote-sen to anywhere in Tokyo. ご主人様と奥様へ: 短い時間ですが、とてもいい思い出になりました。大変お世話になりました。おもてなしに感謝いたします。いつまでもお元気でお過ごしください。

Size is good for price, cute design with facilities such as washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, rice cooker and stove. Location is nearly perfect, convenience store nearby and easily accessible to Asakusa and Akihabara; both one station away via Tsukuba express. Can also easily access Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Ginza and other popular tourist spots. Shibuya isn’t too far out either. Staff is responsive, showed clear instructions and rules. Would recommend and return to this spot again if another opportunity arises.

It was located in a nice corner of Asakusa. A bit of a walk and definitely cold during winter. But nice walk nonetheless. Host was superb and so friendly.
