Absolutely beautiful! A little slice of paradise!
Secluded and very very relaxing.
Very clean, great AC, comfortable bed, perfect shower.water tank in the room. Very Safe.
The staff is very very kind, Teresa is adorable and so is Federico.
the beach area is very quiet, i recommend water shoes as it is impossible to enter it barefoot due to the corals.
The sunset is breathtaking, unreal view from the bed, woke up to the sounds of the waves and birds.
Lot of wild animal life around.
Jungle cafe for breakfast and la buena vida for lunch/dinner.

Great place for our family with a 1.5 year old. She loved the playing area and the pool, and even got two new grandmothers! Resulting in a very relaxed time for us. You should have a car when staying here.

Beautiful very well designed garden making you feel you are alone in a jungle paradise, very nice early in the morning with the sun coming off the trees and sounds of birds.
Very nice touches with good lighting and seating area about the property and swing seat in the room.
Very welcoming host and helpful with the travel cot for baby. Staff seemed friendly.
The pool was so nice and relaxing
It is possible to have dinner at the property for an extra cost, and the dinner was very tasty, unfortunately the host wasn't available for our whole stay but recommended areas to eat in the evening.

Akumal is very nice. we loved the adult section. Some of the staff especially Guadalupe who is the hostess/greeter at the Kutuk buffet restaurant is not friendly to brown skinned guest and this is very unfortunate. If you go here please don't be afraid or hesitate to let guest services know about how you are being treated by any staff member.

I think it should be clearly stated that the ocean swimming and snorkeling on the property is quite limited unless you want to pay for a guide and wear a life jacket. The areas where paid guides take people are often crowded.
No groceries stores in the area, only 7-11 type shops with processed foods.
Breakfast (continental) was quite good. To upgrade to egg dishes was way overpriced.
Very few dinner options available. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. No evening dining at the hotel itself.
If you are not an ocean swimmer or snorkeler but just want to swim in a pool or lay on the beach this place would work for you.

Akumal is a nice town with a very nice beach and a great option to observe sea turtles in the Turtle bay, do a diving course or just chill at the beach. Unfortunately, you can't get to any of the beaches for free, all of the entrance is paid. We found the local guys who were shouting at us and always wanting money for something or trying to sell us something quite disturbing and some of them even rude to us as foreign visitors. The prices the beach are very high in the proximity od the beach. At the end of our stay someone ransacked our friend's room and soon after stole my handbag when we were sitting in a restaurant in Akumal town. I think there is a thief mafia operating around.

There is lots to Akumal not just a restaurant and a little...
There is lots to Akumal not just a restaurant and a little beach. There are beaches, many different restaurants and cenotes. Tami and Elliot will help you understand the taxi system and also how to hop the combis (Public van service) that are cheap and easy to use. They are not chicken busses. There are cenotes everywhere. Some very tiny and some meandering through the jungle. An easy one is Cenote Azul. No real snorkeling but a beautiful place. Charge $10 dollars or much better rate if you pay on pesos. Use pesos as often as possible. Get pesos from the ATMs they have the best conversion rate. The condo beach is a bit of a walk, it who doesn’t need walking, but the cenote flows out into the ocean. Great a snorkeling. Big variety of fish. You can see the transition layer between fresh and salt water. I think our favorite place where we went twice was La Buena Vida restaurant on Akumal beach and after dinner walk up the beach And hitchhiking a golf cart ride back to the highway for a taxi ride ride north back to Sirenis. Most everyone speaks tolerable English but be respectful and learn some rudimentary Spanish like bathroom, beer, check please, thank you and please. Whew. Can you tell we had a great eight day trip?

It was a good place for our troop to convene - 7 in all.
It was a good place for our troop to convene - 7 in all. We had some fun - particularly at the shows. The food was good but not great. The staff was great. The beach was a disappointment - full of seaweed and rocky. Trucks on the beach at 7am sunrise a big turnoff. I would not return unless the beach situation improves.
Cozy and green hotel area with lots of birds and funny animals. The service was excellent and friendly. The evening program was of high quality and the a la carte restaurants had excellent food. The buffet food was also good and the tables were overflowing with different dishes. The renovated Premium Superior room was wonderful. It was spacious and functional and had two bathrooms/toilets.
The hotel was close to Akumal's turtle beach, where we went snorkeling. Historical sites and cenotes are also easily accessible from this hotel.
The Staff is amazing though, they are all so helpful and nice. Always greeting and a smile on their faces, they really did their best to make us feel welcome. I guess that the resort was understaffed for so many people.
I must say that the New Year s Eve party was exceptional! The resort really went above and beyond.
I did not attend any shows in akumal, as this was no where mentioned. Coba on the other hand had their events posted on a wall.
I would not go to Akumal but maybe stay at Coba or Tulum.
Wow!
🥇WHAT A HOTEL!!!🥇
What an awesome hotel!
Everything was just GREAT and AWESOME!
The service in this hotel was VIP class!
- one concierge per bulding - several rooms,
- transportation around the resort,
Several restaurants: mexican, Italian, french, steak house, etc.
The food was VERY tasty, always fresh.
Rooms was very very clean and cleaned twice a day!
In room service - alcohol, dishes, breakfasts, almost everything!
To HAVE TO STAY HERE!!!
We stayed here at the beginning & end of our Mexico trip. It is only a little over an hour from the Cancun airport, but you feel a little more removed from the hordes. The bed & room are comfy, the pool is great, and the beach is reserved (mostly) for hotel guests. The restaurant has good food & the waiters are lovely. The staff were super helpful in assisting with arranging COVID testing prior to flying home.
Great hosts with knowledge of the area and helped understand transportation options and help us select locations and experiences that best fit our wishes. Everything from groceries to the Cenotes that might interest us the best. Even gave us a lift to a recommended restaurant on the beach at Akumal. Excellent view of the bay with the beach at your feet. Great place. Great hosts!
Nice modern hostel, got a pool on top, solid breakfast, big kitchen. Many places to eat around, small supermarket. The walk to Akumal beach is a little long but it's fine. Staff is amazing, had a problem with my locker that was solved right away. Can book diving and snorkeling related stuff right there. Easy to meet new people and share experiences/travel plans.
The beach and warm water is nice - there are fish which can be seen fairly close by. The security is very good and the hotel tries hard to have interesting restaurants but the food was mediocre. There was supposed to be nightly entertainment but we didn't see anything except one night there was a live band but it wasn't local Mexican music.
It was really good! I don’t consider this a 5 star resort though. some things felt cheap. The drinks and the food were good but not great. Same with the room. The pools are fantastic and there is plenty of room. Service was always good. Just not quite 5 star. This is more or less a typical all inclusive.
Beautiful location and spectacular view from the room. Spacious room. Quiet, small hotel for those looking to avoid the gaudy resort complexes.Tasty breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
As other reviews have mentioned, the hotel is a bit dated, but we didn't mind so long as it was clean.
The location is very quiet, comfortable room. At the beach the sargassum is not cleaned ( not high season). There is 1 restaurant 100m away and 2 more at the public beach of Akumal ( beach walk 20-25min). Everything is rather expensive there. Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful.
The location was fabulous; easy access to the beach and snorkeling. Included continental breakfast was a good sized plate of fruit, a lot of toast, coffee, and juice. Other good restaurants were nearby. Staff were helpful in arranging money exchange and shuttle to the next hotel.
The hotel is great in many ways. Beautiful grounds woven into the natural environment, with a fantastic pool, large kids area and a nice beachfront. While there were many guests, the hotel is ample and it didn't feel crowded. The food is diverse and there are many great options.
Can't beat the location. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The view was incredible! The beach gets less seaweed than other areas of the bay due to its direction and there is good snorkeling straight in front of Tan-ik
Bathroom very big with a bathtub and a shower! the shower hat two showers (rain and hand!) a big bed, (but a little bit to hard for my taste.) the hotel is small and with nice pool and a room to play games or have a private phonecall...
The guest house is located in the village of Akumal, which is about 20min walk from the beach. There are several breakfast & dinner options within 2min walk. Fer, the owner, is very nice and super helpful. I recommend 100%.
The staff and service were above and beyond! The staff attention to detail and friendliness are what hotels and resorts should all have. And secrets is by far the best in that area of hospitality.
Our room had an amazing view of the ocean. Staff was very nice. Hotel has a great location. Hotel is beachfront with direct access to the beach from your room. Beautiful pool!
