The most beautiful, immaculate hotel, every inch of this place has been crafted with thoughtful detail. Hundreds of different colourful flowers and plants, water features, stone decorations… it is truly stunning!
We’ve had a wonderful stay, the room is spacious, comfy and clean with great wifi and a good shower. The pool is heaven on a warm day and they make the best pina coladas I think I’ve ever had!
The staff are lovely and friendly, they have been really helpful with our needs and questions. They also speak perfect English which is super handy. They recommended a great trip to see the bioluminescence which was like nothing wed experienced before… wow.

Great stay and friendly owner Diana. She arranged a super boat trip with Dolphins. Very comfortable room and bed with good Air Conditioning. Lovely little pool for a dip. You have views of the ocean and a nice breeze. We had a scooter so was easy to get around. Hotel is 5 minutes walk to the ADO bus station and you have a few good taco places to eat also. A sweet, unpolished beach town. There are no huge multinational hotels on the beach, just low-rise local hotels and apartments. The strip along the beach feels relaxed, calm and slightly down-at-heel. It's easy to explore on foot. As two solo women travellers, we felt safe throughout our stay, though we didn't leave the tourist area. The beach itself is huge and very long, with incredible surf waves. There is a small beach area at the north end where it's possible to swim, but the waves are still quite big, especially for children. There are lifeguards all along the beach. There are nice restaurants right on the beachfront, all serving the same simple food. We only stayed two nights - I think at least four nights are needed to really relax and get used to the pace of life here. There are also several excursions nearby which would have been fun if we'd had more time!

A huge long beach, Zicatela is a lovely place but will change very soon with all the development and construction going on.
Already lots of bars, restaurants, shops and hotels, but still relatively chilled at the moment.
Beware of what you carry, police search anyone they can on the beach to extort money!!

Even if a relatively small town the neighbourhoods are very different; Centro where the hotel is, more local people, Bacocho (a bit more hipster was my impression), Zicatela the touristic part with a lovely beach and Brisas de Zicatela where its mostly backpackers and surfers (its just off Punta Zicatela where the best waves are)

It grew on me. I didn't love it at first.
It grew on me. I didn't love it at first. I think its more suited to younger people than people in their mid 40s + who have already done the backpacking thing. Also I live on a beautiful beach in Australia so it's hard to be impressed by grey sand of Zacatelas beach.. However Carrizalillo beach was beautiful. I recommend visiting that beach while you are there.
I felt like a bit of a sellout as Puerto is not the real mexico, there are more Australians and Americans there than Mexicans it seems. So if you want an authentic Mexican experience you should go to Puebla or Mexico city, but if your looking for a chilled vibe on the beach then you will probably like Puerto.
You'll find better food in other parts of the country also - Oaxaca city, Meixco city, Puebla etc.
It's very hot there. but there's nothing much else to do than hang at the beach.

Overall was great trip.
Overall was great trip. The town feels more international compared to other places I’ve visited in mexico, it lacks that authentic Mexican feeling. The hotel was great, tucked away from the Main Street, very peaceful.

Best falafels and hummus et El Sultan on the Rinconada.
Best falafels and hummus et El Sultan on the Rinconada. Best whole bean coffee as well as cappuccino and cookies at Binisa Cafe. As expats living in San Agustinillo, an hour away, we find things in Puerto that we cannot find in San Agustinillo, Mazunte, or Zipolite. We found some really excellent sharp cheddar cheese at Super 69 grocery on the Rinconada, cans of white meat whole tuna packed in water also at Super 69, bought beautiful Talavera tile for our bathroom at the Talavera store on the Rinconada, and picked up health food products like chia at one of the many small health food stores in Puerto that sell bulk goods.

This hotel is perfect! The staff are wonderful and so friendly, the location is perfect for the hidden gem beach of Puerto Escondido, and it is so easy to walk or take a taxi to other parts. There are some really great restaurants and coffee spots right behind the hotel, and very quick to the airport.
Highly recommend, feels very safe and the garden is gorgeous. The room was clean and so well set up. Bed VERY comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and hot water shower available. Loved it all. Stay here!
Perfect location in Puerto Escondido. We booked this last-minute for 2 nights after a disaster with another accommodation and wish we had been here the whole time! Easy under 10 minute walk down to the main area for restaurants, shopping and the beach but far enough away that it's lovely and peaceful. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in was huge, bed was so comfortable and AC was excellent. Pool was well maintained.
Would recommend this to anyone!
We loved to stay with Gio! The Cabana was absolutely perfect, with a kitchen equiped with all stuff you need. Located near La Punta you can get around quickly and Gio is always down for some advises, help or information. For enjoying the evening there is a pool to take a cool refreshing or the bar for cold beers. The best Hostel we had in Mexico, we will for sure come back :) Thanks Gio!
We were happily greeted off our night bus and offered a space to shower/ change. They let us store our bags, showed us around and then recommended a really cheap motorbike rental. The bed was very comfy and it was nice to have AC to cool down after a day in the sun. The shower was also fantastic and the best we had in Mexico. Great value and super friendly staff!
The location was great for the beach and restaurants. The young man running it, Carlos is a wonderful person, nothing is too much trouble and his English is brilliant. The room was very clean and there was a cooker, fridge and a coffee machine too. Which is unusual on my travels in Mexico. Most places don't even have a fridge. I would definitely stay there again
The apartment was spacious, well designed, views of the mountains & beach, the restaurant had room service & the food was great. It is a big resort with 3 pools, lots of activities & a sales office. The beach (true for most of the Oaxaca coast) had big waves so no swimming. But the pools were great - one had a slide & volleyball net, another had the bar.
Nicely designed space/rooms.. The area was quiet overall which can be hard to find in Mexico so I was able to sleep easily.. It's located a little way from the main tourist type areas but most people have a car, bike or taxis. It's easy to park in Puerto Escondido if you prefer the safety of a car to scooter for your transport needs.
If you don't mind road noise the location is perfect to visit all of Puerto Escondido. The view is excellent and the staff were great for the most part. The breakfast was decent but it was better when you could order from a menu, they switched to a buffet-style breakfast halfway through our stay when the hotel got a bit busier
I loved this hostel so much. It was my favourite from my time in Mexico. It's really social but also has a kind of family vibe in the sense that you get to know lots of the other travellers staying there. Big shout out to the volunteers, and especially Fidel, for creating such a greate atmosphere. #Sorryball2022
From the staff to the facilities and everything in between this place is a home away from home. The Wednesday night BBQ is a highlight and makes for a memorable evening. If you're looking for a no frills high quality stay be sure to check out Villa BONOBO next time your in Puerto Escondido.
We enjoyed staying at a traditional Mexican accomodation for our last night in Puerto Escondido. Being a family of 3 we appreciated the combo of a King size and queen bed for a very reasonable cost. The view from our balcony was epic.
I liked the location and there was air con which was a huge bonus. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to keep our luggage in the hotel after checkout, while we waited for transport out of Puerto Escondido.
Had a really nice time here, very relaxing, quite, great breakfast every morning. Virgine and her staff are very helpful and courteous at all times. My best and most favourite stay in Mexico
the room was wonderful. the bed was super comfortable. best shower in all of Mexico! very clean. AC was an added bonus. hotel is a bit out of the main area so nice and quiet
